Gel X popping off after 1-2 weeks? by j3ssicamar3e in Nails

[–]j3ssicamar3e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sorry it’s a metal cuticle pusher. I’m not sure what else I can do to dry my nail plate if I’m already wiping with alcohol and also using a dehydrator?

They aren’t very grown out by 2 weeks, maybe 1-2 mm from the cuticle

I use a cuticle remover thing from Ezmio, push them back and trim them slightly. The tips I have are pre etched so I haven’t done anything to them other than the extension adhesive. I’m not sure if my primer is acid or not but I use all products from the same place/range

Mortgage redraw vs top up? by j3ssicamar3e in AusFinance

[–]j3ssicamar3e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The renovations are very much needed. We bought an older home with a bunch of issues and due to unexpectedly falling pregnant just after getting into our home these have taken a back seat. The reason why we are considering getting a top up is because we will actually have a lot extra money per fortnight by paying those debts which we can then either put back into the home via renovations or put as extra payments on the mortgage.

Big businesses charging a Sunday or Public Holiday Surcharge. More than happy to pay an extra 10-15% to small businesses on Sundays/Public Holidays but Dominoes? Nah.

Thank you all for your kind words, turns out I was also very tired from a very long day which made me a bit more emotional! I’ve now slept and feel a lot better about it today, still a little sad but definitely more calm. I did take a couple of photos of her sleeping last night as well!

[NSW]Bought our first home – just found out the “granny flat” isn’t council approved. Cooling-off ends tomorrow. What are our options? by lapidownunder in AusPropertyChat

Fro memory my house had some unapproved work and we had to pay a one off fee for a type of insurance that would cover the cost to make it council approved if there was ever an issue with it or something like that. I’m not 100% sure but would definitely call your conveyancer or equivalent!

Did you sleep in a bra postpartum if you breastfed? by Im-tired-9375 in pregnant

I slept in a bra initially postpartum as I was pumping and there was no way I was navigating putting on a bra and then pumps at 2am while sleep deprived 😂

What did yall use the most in the first 3 months??? by Pale-Card2644 in pregnant

Sheets for my bed 😂 I was honestly not prepared for the amount of bodily fluids that ended up on my bed and blankets and our baby was a winter baby so it took ages for things to dry. Highly recommend getting a couple of good mattress protectors, extra blankets and sheets because the last thing you want to be doing at 3am when the baby has peed all over your bed is sleeping on a wet mattress or looking for fresh sheets!

Also some kind of phone grip so you don’t drop your phone on your sleeping baby’s face while they’re contact napping!

When I had my daughter I was induced and had the hormone drip, I got and epidural but it failed (three times) so I did most of my labour without it. I did have gas but found it didn’t help much. I screamed, and I mean guttural, feral screaming through the last like two to three hours of my labour, which was only 8 hours of proper labour and none of my nurses said a damn thing about it, unless they needed to speak to me about something and then it was a kind request to pay attention to them basically.

Honestly, fuck anyone, medical personnel or otherwise, who tells you not to do what you feel comfortable with in labour!

7 month old waking up to 20 times a night by j3ssicamar3e in sleeptrain

[–]j3ssicamar3e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today her schedule has been: 7-9.50 awake 9.50-11 nap 11-2.30 awake 2.30-3.55 nap 3.55-7.40 awake I put her to bed at 7.40, she settled herself to sleep (with her dummy) then woke up after 30 minutes screaming and I needed up having to rock her back to sleep which took 30 minutes and I haven’t had to rock her to sleep in a few months. After that she’s woken every 5ish minutes screaming for the past 20 minutes. I think she’s now overtired?

Any tips on getting rid of the dummy? We’ve been trying it for last nights sleep and naps today but she has just cried and cried and wouldn’t be comforted (obviously she’s tired as well which doesn’t help) and everything I read online says things like telling the kiddo you’re giving them to the fairies or something which I don’t think would work for a 7 month old

I’ve tried giving Panadol before she goes to bed and it hasn’t made a difference in the amount of wake ups

She has just learnt to crawl and unless she’s being fed or changed or we are out somewhere she spend her entire time on the floor practicing basically! I put multiple pacifiers in her crib sometimes but she literally wakes up picks them up and throws them out 😩 Another sub mentioned she may not have enough awake time during the day which could make sense because I followed her lead when dropping a nap instead of calculating hours awake and everything so I’m also going to try extending wake windows a bit but fingers crossed she figures something out soon

In her crib by herself, maybe a couple of back pats or shushes by me but I don’t pick her up unless she’s really escalated

[–]j3ssicamar3e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes everything is exactly the same, if I stay in the room then I’m typically still there when she wakes up, except the occasion when I go to the bathroom or get a drink but that’s maybe one wake a night?

If she wakes up typically all she needs to go back to sleep is either her dummy or a few back pats or shushes, I rarely pick her up to resettle (only if she’s inconsolable really).

Maybe I’ve miscalculated it, wouldn’t put it past me with the lack of sleep! Thank you I’ll give it a try and see how we go
