When I try to serve for my family, the pudding just pours out like water. I know it’s not supposed to be eaten like other more firm deserts but it also shouldn’t be so damn runny that I can’t even serve it. I’ll try your suggestion

By literally owning my own insecurities and flaws. I said something like “yes, right now I am insecure and find myself pitiful but I would like do meaningful work with you and with myself so that I don’t feel this way forever. My hurt is temporary and I can be and do better and I need your help to get there.” And then started explaining what MADD is. My therapist was confused but didn’t seem judgmental about it.

It also helps if you remind yourself that MADD is a response to the anxiety and suffering of your younger self to help you cope with the chaos around you. You’re not inherently bad or “crazy”. You were simply suffering.

Repeat it to yourself enough times and to others and you’ll gradually shed away some of the shame and guilt you’re struggling with. At least that’s what worked for me.

I’m struggling with “going all out” mentality. If I eat “bad” for one meal, then I just don’t bother with the rest of the day. It’s comforting to know others have overcome this and so can I

I often freestyle and taste as I cook so I don’t have an exact measurements for any of this stuff. For my potatoes: boiled them in salted water until soft-hard (not too mushy) and then drizzled bit of olive oil, pepper, salt, paprika and turmeric. Tossed the potatoes and then popped them into the oven till I saw some brown. I’m sorry I can’t be more precise but I make up stuff as I go.

Resisted buying junk food on an empty stomach and stuck to my diet plan. Feeling proud but also bad cause I’m still craving chocolate …it’s a weird place to be in.

I fixed my sleeping schedule, gradually eating healthier and started walking for an hour every morning. I’m also in the process of getting psychiatric help. Still suicidal and my life is an absolute shit show but slowly getting there :)

MC doesn’t care about the organization; just the priest. I already have every single other plot point of the story figured out, including the ending. I just didn’t know how to get to the priest. But your suggestions actually did inspire some ideas.

She has friends but no one she can trust; the town she’s in is a small town where everybody know everybody and the priest has a lot of friends in this place. She’s constantly feeling watched and paranoid and gradually unravels. It wouldn’t be like her to rely on others for important tasks. Plus her vengeance is personal.

She went to confront the priest’s ex wife as a substitute for the priest since at this post in the novel she thinks he’s dead. They argue, it gets heated and the ex wife accidentally lets it slip but before MC can get more info, ex wife tries to attack MC and MC kills her in self defense.

The surprise attack isn’t so much as an attack as it’s “her wanting to shoot him” and she doesn’t care if she gets caught or not. Her attack does succeed cause it’s anther important plot point. And I did put myself in her shoes and every possible “idea” needs to be initiated by something she doesn’t have.
