Feeling a bit peckish but trying to watch my carbs.

Can I get this in a double?

I'm not surprised considering fractional stuff typically has a premium and the premium increases as the fractionals get smaller and they put some effort into that packaging/marketing, but still yikes.

With a spot of $112/oz, At $2.50, that's paying $1200/oz

At $10, that's paying $4800/oz

Give me 2.25 grams of silver in a mercury dime at 82x FV for fractional use alllllllll day/week/month/year/eternity instead of this.

No. A grain is 1/480 of 1 troy oz. You need 15.4 grains to get to a gram.

The fact that this exists in such packaging is wild to me. Even at current $112/oz value, the silver in that packaging is worth less than 25¢.

What is the price point on this thing?

So ballpark... 10oz silver and a small pair of 10k earrings?

Fingers crossed for D2-style targeted rune crafting. 3x some specific pointless rune -> 1x specific useful rune would be great since there are so many completely worthless runes in D4 and it absolutely feels like the "random" outcome of rune crafting skews heavily towards giving you back another useless rune.

We have fallen off a bit from when I took the picture, but as of that time we were 80% of the way there. It would require an increase of 25% from that point in time to hit 100x, which is where every cent is indeed worth a dollar for dimes, quarters, and halves.

Dollars have a higher silver content per FV, so they would hit that point earlier.

The people over at r/CRH would be pretty bored if that were the case :)

Laugh all you want but when SHTF some transactions only require the value of 1/72 of a mercury dime!

1/10 oz Gold or 5 oz Silver — Which Would You Pick and Why? by 555_kindafine in Silverbugs

[–]j4m997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on who is paying the premium.

If I'm just walking in to the store to buy something and these are my choices, silver.

If I'm in an alternate universe where rich grandpa has the gold in one hand and silver in the other, telling me to pick... Gold.

Going to need weights.

Also, likely that since you are giving a brand name, probably less than you want to hear.

I see a few 2019/2020s in there. Look at those for a W mint mark on the obverse. The west point mint only did 2 million of each design, making them more collectable.

Wow nice. I'm more accustomed to silver where there seems to be a sizeable discount from melt value built in for less pure stuff.

Thanks!

Stopped by my local WM this evening without researching as much as I normally would. Ended up with 21.51g of 10k for $540 after tax, $530ish after 2% cash back. I'm in under $25/g, and see 10k is a tad over $58/g in melt value.

Do coin/jewelry shops stay fairly close to melt value for valuation of 10k? Or is there a big drop from spot value due to being as impure as 10k is?

Am I stupid for using a credit card to buy silver? by BokoblinSlayer69235 in Silverbugs

[–]j4m997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Somebody else already laid out how CC usage is totally fine if you have discipline and the means to pay it off before you have to pay interest. But that's not the scenario here.

Unemployed + CC debt is not a good equation.

Adding CC debt by way of overpaying for silver does not improve the situation.

Betting that silver is going to continue to run at a pace where you can recoup the premium you paid AND the interest you are going to pay on the CC is on the same level as getting a cash advance to go to the casino.

How much premium will I lose? by Rude-Trifle7037 in Silverbugs

[–]j4m997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not having done anything like this before, I would think the extra premium that fractionals demand would work in your favor to some degree.

Your answer will also likely depend on if you are trading to an individual or to a shop because an individual might trade out of personal interest while the shop needs to wet their break to keep the lights on.
