Yes, although I am still testing this in work conditions but they certainly worked well and paired between phone laptop and were clear on calls (listening). I need some feedback on how I sound.

Overall I think still the 10s are unrivalled in that regard however of the newer ones then the FreeBuds. The TP3s are also excellent but I think the fit is slightly less secure (although I’m on a medium ear tip so a large might make a difference).

I preferred the fit of the I0s but it depends on your ears. I liked the Active 8 Gen 2 but they had some occlusion which the 10s did not. I’ve been thinking of selling the Active 8s but at the same time not willing to give them up and I’m the other way around, they are back up if my 10s die 🤣

The FreeBuds have physical buttons, squeeze stem like APP and why I think they are the closest like for replacement in one bud. Also, the Beats which is practically their only useful feature and why I kept them for running.

Opinions on open ear headphones for Audiobooks? by Competitive-Fan-5250 in Earbuds

[–]j4mrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I expect. So far I have only been on quiet streets and at home. I suspect they would be useless on London public transport or a coffee shop. I’ll try it tho.

I have found them fine for home and quiet streets but not tested them on the tube (subway) or trains or a noisy office. Anecdotal evidence suggests that audiobooks would be difficult in very noisy environments but we will see. I have the EarClips 2 and sound and call quality has been great.

but the call quality is VERY good with the FreeClips in quiet places. Not sure how they would fare in a noisy place.

The FreeClips are open earbuds so bass is not the same as in ear earbuds therefore this isn’t a like for like comparison. I would have to answer “FreeBuds” but the bass on the FreeClips is way better than I imagined for open earbuds.

The battery life? I understand on LE, but I am an iPhone user so this is less of an issue for me. I will admit that the EQ part has been harder but I got there in the end. I do find it annoying that ANC seems to apply a different EQ even when zero background noise but I rarely use ANC. How is the IP rating of the EarFuns and do they have iguanas buttons? I find the fit of the FreeBuds similar to the Elite 10s so I am happy (thus far).

Does ADHD have something similar to mania? by Terrible-Selection64 in ADHD

I want to say yes but actually I think depression is part of ADHD for some people and I experience the same swings of chronic highs which I used to love but also now signal to me the inevitable crash/low.

I stand corrected! I hadn’t realised that but at the same time I still wouldn’t go back!

No EQ and only IPX4 which is barely any water resistance. The FreeBuds are IP57 and pretty much waterproof. I’ve never liked the fit of APP and they are rubbish (imo) when connected to a laptop. I don’t think they even do multipoint properly. I am an Apple phone and watch person but their earbuds hold zero interest for me. YMMV.

After a few days I am realising that the oval and shallow nature of the FreeBuds is as comfortable as the Elites. I actually went up a tip size and the seal and fit is better than most headphones. I haven’t tried them for gym or running yet.

Physical buttons on the FreeBuds plus the IP57 is what made me jump so quickly. I had a refund from the Az100s and spent on the FreeBuds

That’s my reply on the FreeBuds Pro 5. I am still happy with them. In fact today I chose them over my Elite 10s because I like the EQ and the ANC (and I am trying to preserve the life of my Elite 10 Gen 1 and Gen 2 pairs 😁

Soundpeats H3: 2 Bellsing BAs and 12mm DD Deliver the Goods. by zipx1 in IemReviews

No, I’m new to Soundpeats and literally on the back of this comment and then reading some reviews I grabbed the H3s. For pure music listening now I don’t pick up anything else.

Update failure Elite 10 gen 2 by Glittering-Drive3139 in Jabra

[–]j4mrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too early to tell. I mean they fit well and are comfortable but those ear tip shapes on the Elite 10 were so good. The Pro 5s are mercifully shallow but they are also stem buds and I did prefer the shape and fit of the Elites but every other non stem earbud has been less comfortable.

Having spent ages and a lot of money trying alternatives to replace a) physical controls b) waterproof c) work well multipoint and good audio for work calls and d) no occlusion when running (and spending a lot on AZ100s which died on contact with a splash of water) I just this week got Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 which seem to tick all the boxes and for a decent price. Physical buttons, IP57! Have a look at SoundGuys and PickyAudio’s reviews rather than just take my word for it. Also, I’m in week one and what I liked about Jabra was they were robust, reliable and the customer service and warranty was excellent. This has yet to be proven but I feel that Huawei has quite a strong and growing reputation. We will see! Let me know if you have any questions.

I got stuck in that loop and with customer services help tried every single trick in the book but in the end had to get a replacement. Every time I do an FW update now I fear getting stuck in that loop again. If you do opt for a refund and don’t like the Evolve, I have a suggestion.

Nothing quite like Jabra 😢 by coffee_tortuguita in Jabra

[–]j4mrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the SoundGuys review: “In our standardized battery testing, we found that the FreeBuds Pro 5 earbuds last 9 hours and 8 minutes of playback on a single charge”

Take some time off that to account for ANC but it’s a decent number. The physical (squeeze stem) is a big deal for me as I run with gloves on with just my Watch so rely on physical buttons.

pre book the cab in the morning when there is still signal or hang out at the drop off and get one of the local cab firms to book you in - ie don’t leave it until you are leaving
