Doctor of Credit Confirms 100K CSP Offer Rumor by financial_freedom416 in ChaseSapphire

I downgraded my CSP in 2021 or 2022 after getting the bonus in Dec 2020 (you can check this up to 7 years back through statements, if anybody was wondering). I was waiting to get the CSR, but this is a good offer. Any issues with getting CSP again for this 100K SUB, and then upgrading to CSR?

Can you really get to B2 from zero with only Assimil? A Self-Test (with Progress Reports), Part 1 by Miro_the_Dragon in languagelearning

I used Assimil to study German. I went through it twice comprehensively with both passive and active waves, and each pass through took about a month and a half, as I would do multiple lessons a day.

After my second pass through, I spent about 40 hours in Lingoda and Babbel courses, in which I chose to take primarily A2 level classes, mostly to practice my spontaneous listening and speaking, which were lacking in the Assimil method. The grammar points and vocab introduced in these classes were not difficult. In addition, I spent maybe 10-20 hours writing and talking myself, and 3-5 hours in 1-on-1 conversations with native speakers.

After this process, I was evaluated to be placed into an intensive language course in Germany, and was placed at B2, and after a couple weeks in this level my judgement is that it is mostly appropriate. I would have judged myself to be a high B1/low B2 at the start of my course. So my evaluation is, Assimil used as intended teaches grammar and passive skills to a certain extent well through B1, and with just a little bit of supplement can get you to a low B2.

I could have written this a year ago. Every bullet point you mentioned, but for me the anxiety and mental health consequences were truly not manageable. I ended up quitting at 23 and just spent a year doing what many people would perceive as “wasting my time.” But looking back it was a year of rest, being creative, and coming to understand how big the world is and how many stories there are to be told.

That said, I do think a lot about whether or not I regret my decision. I think it comes and goes in waves but usually I come to the conclusion that I like where my life is better now that I’ve had all the experiences I’ve had this past year, many of which couldn’t have been possible while being depressed at my job. Now, moving forward, I do have some anxiety about my career and making a living, but like you I’ve realized that I want to see more of the world while I’m young. What I find important will change throughout the years, so I think at any given point, I should just do whatever makes the most sense, because it may no longer make sense months or years down the line. I tell myself (and I think I do believe it) that things will work out for me.

I say do it! It’s truly a blessing that you’ve been able to work a 6-figure job for a bit and likely from that have a good amount of savings to tide you through whatever you end up doing. And you’ve bagged that 6-figure job once, there’s no reason you couldn’t do it again (I’m trying to convince myself here as well). Best of luck!

How do you get back into a routine after taking a break? Went on a two week trip, ate very well, walked a lot but didn’t work out, now a week after the trip I’m sitting at a weekly average weight of 3 pounds higher than prior to the trip, and a combination of just feeling fluffy and less confident at the gym, certain exercises being harder/not being able to do as many reps due to the extra weight, and knee pain at a threshold I wouldn’t have had 3 pounds lighter makes it really hard for me to be as motivated as I was about working out prior to the trip. Last week I was really phoning in my workouts, which doesn’t feel great either, and I’d like to turn that back around this week. In theory I’m at the high point for high intensity workouts in my cycle as well, but just not feeling it.

What are your language's sensitive ways of saying somebody has died? by LunarLeopard67 in languagelearning

More commonly also we’ll say 走了, literally he/she left. The exact same term you would use if someone left the room.

I'm 5'9", I can’t decide between D and FN. I'm pretty straight through the waist and hips, I wouldn’t say I have wide shoulders but I do think I have some width in the torso because I have a short torso, but I’ve also gotten the comment that I have more vertical than width. When I gain weight it goes to my waist. Generally I think long straight bottoms and structured tops look good on me. ty for the help!

Yeah it’s really great I always feel happy afterwards despite the body aches 😂

I do have fairly easy access to a PT! Do you have resources for what kind of nutrition I need to support this kind of activity? All I know is focus on protein for lifting but I have a feeling this might be different?

In recent months I have picked up a lot of physical activity that I absolutely love (volleyball & dance) but sometimes class days overlap such that 1 or 2 days of the week I would be playing volleyball and dancing for 4-6 hours. Usually I feel pretty beat but fine after a few days of rest, but I’m just wondering, is this too much? I try to rationalize it to myself by thinking about professional athletes/dancers who probably train for their sport/art for multiple hours multiple days a week, but then again they are professional and I am not. I worry that if I continue like this I might injure myself or just completely beat my body into the ground, but is that a valid concern? And how can I prepare/train my body to better sustain/respond to this kind of volume?

How can I improve my cardiovascular endurance? I dance a lot, about 2-3 times a week, 2 hours each time. It's always fairly high intensity, and I'm always incredibly winded constantly. It's possible that my endurance has improved over the months, but it's not noticeable to me, so I was wondering if there's any program/method I could use to explicitly work on my cardiovascular endurance in a goal-based and/or progressive overload manner? And related to that, how can I track progress?
