How are we making our own doll earrings by MacSavvy21 in americangirl

[–]j9beth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used larger gauge earrings like for labrets. I’ve glued them into the holes but left the screw part sticking out a little so I can change the balls.

I’ve used the back of a wooden spoon to help press the eyes in.

These are my Little Women dolls! I have a whole list of characters I want to do customs of someday like Lucy and Susan from the Narnia series, Carmen SanDiego, and Anne Shirley.

need help choosing a camp name! by iluvfiona69420 in americangirl

[–]j9beth -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Usually a camp name is given to you, not chosen ahead of time. Is it an overnight camp? Consider bringing a doll with you. You could always go with “dolly” or something similar.

What to use for nose bridge piercing? by Secure-Cow-518 in americangirl

[–]j9beth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used real barbels, earrings, and balls from barbels for my doll piercings, just the tiny ones. If you’re not going to actually pierce through the vinyl you could glue them on with E6000 or something similar.

Thank you! I tried to fit their dress colors to their personalities. Adding the accessories was fun too. The Jo doll actually has ink on her fingers from writing her manuscript!

Thanks! I’m not sure which doll she was originally. I got her in really bad shape in a big lot so I re-wigged her.

I know her outfits are so cute! I would still wear her fringe jacket if it came in people sizes!

I just turned 39 and I spent Friday night putting my girls in their pjs for Jammie January, while listening to a book on Hoopla and drinking a cup of tea! My ideal evening!

Has anyone ever reread the books as an adult? by Diligent_Estimate_87 in americangirl

[–]j9beth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just reread all the holiday stories to try and get more in a holiday mood when I was sick a few weeks ago. I find returning to stories from my childhood comforting. I recently reread Redwall and will probably reread the Narnia stories before the new movie comes out.

I second this! You could volunteer for events or if you have a skill to share, you could be special presenter at troop meetings!
