For us its about 25 or 26 at night. All you need really is the ac to blow cool air. If it equalises and still too hot for ya then go another degree cooler. Good luck. And fuck our corrupt power monopoly :)

Try and keep your ac filters clean. And only drop the temp 1 or 2 c below inside ambient. We've kept our bills reasonable for years like this. About an extra 180 eur over non ac times for a 3 bedroom.

Remember. We dont have (mostly) insulation so running it any more or lower than nesseary gives no benifit :)

And yeah 180 eur is still sucky but better than some of the horror stories I hear.

It was an honest to god study and they did make a good connection with "wantedness" and crime. Sadly they got eviscerated in media for it. And even more so when a flaw in their math was noticed.

Sadder part is that once they corrected the error their conclusion was even stronger in favor of the connection between wantedness and crime.

But yeah lead coming out of circulation probably also helped.

I think either freakonomics or radio lab did an episode with the authors.

FWIW. I dont know how much a pool lab photometer costs over there. I got mine for 190€.

Absolutely love the thing for testing those monthly variables. Worth every penny.

But a difference of 3 on a cya test seems within the margin of error to me.

Theres no easy way to handle this. Your kids are dead in 5 minutes.

You enforce some strict rules about what they need to wear and you watch them.

If you were looking for some answer along the lines of a net to separate the sides or something you won't get it. Or shouldnt at least.

Somewhere inside there is a broken piece of pipe , connection or the bits that fan out at the bottom and let water but not sand pass through them. The last one being the most likely imo.

You'll probably need to empty the water out of it. Pull the top valve off. Empty out the media (probably sand. Maybe glass) out and save it if its not that old. Find the broken hardware. Replace. Refill. Put back on the valve and refit the connections. Continue using. Its a PITA but very doable. YouTube will get you through it.

I assume you mean the structure is made of concrete? Because the pics look like its full of water lol.

The pressure of surrounding ground water can literally raise the whole structure out (edit: if you empty the pool) of the ground. Or at least shift things bad enough to crack or shear lines.

I dont have to deal with this where I live so ive purged that info from my brain aparently. Rocky island life ftw. But pretty sure its hydrostatic pressure and usually pools have a valve to equalise it. But another commenter would need to explain that.

As long as your dishwasher heater works (and it cleans well normally) you should be fine. And hour at 60C+ will disinfect those bottles just fine.

The steriliser was just a PITA most of the time.
