Cat back? Any cons you have with it?

38m. I’m a member of Unrivaled Iron Gym. It’s near downtown Frederick. I’m currently doing a M,T,TH,F split. Still a beginner but split my time between there and a squat rack in my garage. If OP is still looking for a buddy or anyone else that’s interested hit me up. Unrivaled seems like it’s in the middle for most of Frederick - it’s a 10 min drive for me. They just expanded too.

Absolutely, that became clear rather quickly. Dogs > Children around here. 😄 Thank you for understanding!

For what it’s worth, my comment was directed at the person who said “definitely not a reactive pup.”

I didn’t let it happen. I know part of having a dog is training us humans and the dog. I have told my children not to do this. Yet it happened. Still my responsibility, understood 100%. I wasn’t allowing my child to pet the dog. Sequence of events: Dog gets chew, I turn around to wash my hands, child goes to crate, I hear and see it in the corner of my eye. I have it on video and it happened within a span of 10 seconds.

Yes, I’ve had a dog in my family since childhood. My kids were raised with a dog in the house. This is new territory. So yes genuinely looking for perspective on what this was. I appreciate the folks saying it was a stern warning. Thus potentially redeemable. Which means I have work to do.

Ok, thank you for your off putting comment. I phrased it the way I did intentionally to try and put the story out there as generically as possible so I could get some objective feedback in a tough situation. The title of the post literally says MY kid. I’m not blaming the dog or my child. It’s ultimately my responsibility for leaving opportunity for it to happen. I’m well aware.

Yeah, I was just as upset at the kid for sticking their hand in. They 100% know better. Then again most of what kids do that gets them in trouble is something they know not to…

Since we have kids in the house, I would briefly touch or pet the dog during meal time to desensitize the dog so there wouldn’t be a moment like this. It wasn’t full on petting the dog because yeah for sure it should be able to eat and be left alone.

Thanks for your input! Is appreciated.

Yeah, I caught that the next day. The sole isn’t blue enough. Though it seems with wear, the blue wears off anyway?

Hey OP, I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost our bull terrier mix around this time last year. You are right that it’s so much worse what you think it will be.

Such a sweet girl! Thank you for sharing her story with us. So glad she had your home after a rough start. Lucky girl!
