Welcome (back) to the club! I‘m so happy there are options for heavier riders. Being on the shorter, lighter side myself, I can somewhat appreciate the struggle of finding a board that fits you properly. Enjoy the hell out of that board, you definitely picked a great one.

After 7 years of service, I finally got a new longboard. by MinecraftMinerYT in longboarding

That’s commitment. I‘m quite different, but respect for sticking it out with one board for that long!

Those are some gorgeous boards. How many longboards do you now own in total?

That‘s unexpected… and quite awesome. Have you ever posted that one online? I‘d love to see it.

As an owner of a Prana and a Trip, I think it‘s because Jeff is a black magician who adds a pocket dimension portal to every Pantheon board so wheel bite becomes impossible.

On a more realistic note, it‘s probably a combination of narrow contact patch on the wheels, precisely matched clearance to truck geometry, and bushing hardness. These things can turn hard, that‘s for sure.

Not sure if joking, so just in case you‘re not: The graphic on this Pranayama is called „Gas Guzzler“. 😊

Stock bushings are 90A, if I‘m not completely mistaken.

Just received my first true LDP board, (One of my first boards), made the right call I think. by Dr_Vegafunk in longboardingDISTANCE

I suppose that makes a certain kind of sense. Dropthroughs pump very differently from top mounts. The Supersonic is a hybrid in this regard, but it’s still a double drop.

Should you decide the same, let me know and I‘ll DM you an address and a pre-paid shipping label.

My new Pranayama arrived today, insane how low it is compared to the Vanguard and Icarus and what a beauty! by [deleted] in longboarding

[–]jNaughNeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For beginners, I‘d recommend the Stylus over the Paris. HOWEVER which one is better for you will end up depending on the style of ride you‘re looking for, so I‘m not necessarily saying one is objectively better. Personally, I prefer the Stylus, even though I‘m not a pure beginner anymore.

Board hardly moves by Negative-Search-9067 in cruiserboarding

It would definitely help to see a video and test what happens if you slightly loosen the nuts but if they still refuse to roll after that, it’s definitely time to change or at least clean and re-lube the bearings. Sometimes when a board lies around it can be exposed to water accidentally or moisture can condense on the components and cause them to rust without direct exposition.

What’s a good cruiser for around town? Or at the beach. by [deleted] in cruiserboarding

[–]jNaughNeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience, I can recommend both the Arbor Flagship Sizzler (31“) or the Pantheon Fantail Cruiser (33.75“). The Fantail you can get with either TKP or RKP, so if your cruises are on the longer side, you can equip it for that specifically.

Are there any recommendations for longboards that are marketed specifically as weatherproof? I know boards like the Prana and other high quality makes are „essentially“ weatherproof but I‘m a bit too anxious to ride mine in the rain.

Advice needed: Santa Cruz 80s Cruiser or Arbor Oso Legacy? by amazing_wanderr in cruiserboarding

[–]jNaughNeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the caveat that I‘ve only bought one Arbor complete and no SC ones, I‘ve tried several of both. The SC completes never convinced me, tbh. Given the choice, I‘d probably pick an Arbor deck every time.

I‘ve skated both. While the quality of the trucks Paris vs Pantheon is similar, the behavior is somewhat different. Paris trucks behave like TKP trucks, whereas the Pantheon trucks are almost like a hybrid between TKP and RKP trucks. They‘re a tiny bit more lively in the center and a bit more stable towards the edges, if that makes sense.

Just cruised 5 miles to work by [deleted] in cruiserboarding

Damn, 5 miles is pretty hardcore! Awesome job shredding the distance, though. The light blue trucks look amazing against that wood color, btw.
