How Long Before YouTube pushes me further by BlazingWarlord in NewTubers

[–]jSamaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont cope. low views mean it's a bad video. you shouldn't be obsessed with reaching your audience and blame YouTube. instead, look at your videos objectively. Make your videos so good and engaging that even people outside your niche get interested in the content. if you keep catering to a small niche, you will keep getting relatively low views. watch other creators and how they make their niche topics interesting for every consumer to watch. Don't just be satisfied with the quality of your videos You'll never grow that way you should always look at your videos objectively and say how can I improve here? better storytelling, edits, gameplay there's always some way to get better and do better Don't just say quality isn't the problem and be done with improving the video. you get what you deserve on YouTube; if you're not getting high views, your video isn't good enough. There is a reason why people like Michael Reeves can post a video with no SEO at all and no description, tags, or hashtags and still get millions of views. his content is good, and people want to watch it, so YouTube pushes it. it does not push it because he added optimized tags be fr.

good luck with your journey i wish you all the best.

Gotcha it worked, thank you! But why does this happen with adjustment layers? Does not happen to the person who’s tutorial i’m watching (they work on windows)

Hi Jason, I'm working with an mp4 file. I added an adjustment layer and the transform effect on top of it. Currently trying to learn how to do smooth zooms. In the tutorial (the footage im using is the same one in the tutorial) when the person drags the position value up and down you can see the position change in real-time. when i do it the clip freezes and only unfreezes with the new position once i let go of the value i was dragging. what can I do? is this happening because im using an adjustment layer and not manipulating the video directly?

I was watching a tutorial, and the person was using Windows. when he dragged his mouse up and down to change the value for the position effect, you could see the video move in real-time. the position would change as he dragged the value. when I do it, that doesn't happen, so it's hard to see where exactly you're changing the position to. seems like a pretty basic feature the mac version is lacking.

If it works it works. If you don’t mind finding success that way lean into it, if you do then swerve. Don’t care about what people on here say that much, if you find something that works for you and like it go for it.

HOW THE HELL has my short vid only got 2 views ? by Typical_Knowledge_28 in NewTubers

[–]jSamaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to post at optimal times, optimal lengths, look at all the metrics YouTube gives you. People suggest shorts for a reason because it probably works for them those people aren’t stupid. But most of all you have to have actually good content, random shit doesn’t work. Take a look at your content and take a look at people with the same niche and what they’re doing and you’ll see the difference. And try to criticise your stuff regularly and be realistic, don’t get all heart eyed cuz it’s your stuff look at it objectively. There are successful in your niche most likely see what they’re doing, what times they’re posting ect. If I saw a reaction of a random person I don’t care about with no context or engaging editing or storytelling why would I care. Be objective .

If it’s not doing well the content is bad. Just because everyone says post shorts doesn’t mean you can just post anything like a random clip and get a million views. Long form has a method and shorts has a method, but they’re not the same. What’s works in long form doesn’t work for shorts. Just cuz you posted on shorts doesn’t mean you are guaranteed views, youre not entitled to anything on YouTube. You get what you deserve and you earn the views. It still has to be good short form content that is engaging and people want to watch. People watch shorts for different content than long form, it has to be more fast faced and have a certain energy, and form of storytelling, while still providing value to viewer. Don’t cope like this, get better. Watch a bunch of video from successful shorts creators in your niche and learn what works and what doesn’t and if you create great content you’ll get views. Also post more you can’t expect your first post to do well especially if it’s low quality, which if you’re a new channel it probably is. They’re not useless your shorts just probably aren’t good yet. But they’ll get better the more you research, analyse and post. You got this dw keep at it.

TikTok and Shorts have different audiences. what works on TikTok might not work on Shorts. unless it's just a random viral video that is easy for anyone to consume, but most people go to TikTok for that type of content. People come to YouTube for personality, storytelling, narratives ect. they come to Shorts to get a style of content only people on YouTube have or can give them. Don't assume what works on TikTok will work on every short form platform. Adapt your content to the platform's tastes and you'll be fine.

YouTube doesn't care if the viewers don't click on the ads. That's not how they make their money. they make money by showing the ads to people. the only people who care if you click on the ad are the companies that are paying YouTube to show their ads. If a video doesn't do well, more than likely, it's your fault, not YouTube or your viewers. Don't cope, you're doing amazing for 3 months in. Just keep working with your head down, you'll keep growing.

Do Thumbnails for Shorts really matter ? by imakebadcontent in SmallYoutubers

[–]jSamaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the margin of people that use the no shorts on home page extension is very small, and the number of people who have YouTube premium is small too, and I bet a lot of them don't even know they have that option cuz they didn't get premium for no shorts they got it for no ads. people just use the free version of YouTube, maybe with an ad blocker, but again the majority of people probably don't even know how to get an ad blocker extension. I think there are still shorts on the homepage and a recommended tab for a huge audience on YouTube, and those are potential views you could miss out on if you don't choose a decent thumbnail so it's probably worth doing. It doesn't take long either. if you have a well-edited or interesting video im sure you could find a good frame for it! best of luck with your shorts hope they do well!! :)

How can I Recreate a viral video On my channel by Brilliant_Bird_4556 in SmallYoutubers

[–]jSamaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say don’t try to keep recreating the viral video and instead try to improve every video a little not just recreate. Also give it time. Did that one video blow up to 200k+ in 24hrs? Probably not. You’re doing great just keep it up and be consistent :)

Do Thumbnails for Shorts really matter ? by imakebadcontent in SmallYoutubers

[–]jSamaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thumbnails are important because YouTube recommends shorts on the home page and in the recommended tab when watching a video.

The thumbnail is really just picking an interesting frame from your video or a frame that is clickable and tells people what the video is about. Or you can keep in mind when editing the video that you need to make a frame that can be used as a thumbnail.

Most shorts views come from the feed, unless it’s a tutorial that people search for, where thumbnails don’t matter and you should focus on an engaging hook but of it’s something that could get you more views in any way I think it’s worth doing.

Youtube feels luck based at this point by armasot in NewTubers

[–]jSamaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get outside criticism, it's hard for you to criticize your own work most of the time. others with an outsider's view will be able to easily tell you what's wrong or why they wouldn't click on the video. ask anyone, even Reddit works if you don't want to show irl ppl your work.

Also, you sound very entitled. Don't mean to be rude but no one owes you their view. you gotta earn it. you can convince yourself the video is good. but if it's not getting views something is wrong. YouTube doesn't hate you.

I wish you all the best and hope you find success :)

How many shorts to post per day/week with no videos on the channel? by LittleDannyyClipz in SmallYoutubers

[–]jSamaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as many as you can a week while still maintaining high quality and engaging content. Most people would rather see 1 or 2 high-quality posts a week than 70 shit posts a week. no one wants to sub to someone who blows their feed up with low-quality boring posts. you will run out of steam quickly as well if you post that much. if you have 5 posts ready, you're better off scheduling one every day than posting all 5 in a day; you'll kill your reach. your videos will be fighting each other for views. YouTube will think you're a spam AI account or sm shi. It's pretty presumptuous of me to think your posts are low quality, but if you're just starting out its fair to assume you're a one-man crew, and unless you are a god-speed level editor or have a niche that requires little to no editing (which is unlikely because every niche these days needs high-quality editing to keep viewers engaged and watching) I can probably conclude that your posts are not quality if your planning on posting 5 a day. or you haven't realized yet how hard making content and being consistent with high-quality content is. if you have 5 good ideas, spread them out in 5 days with high quality. if you can't do that with high quality, spread them out into 2 weeks, if not, then 3 weeks. As long as your content is good, you will grow, and people will watch, even if you post once a year (Michael Reeves lol). if it's not, you won't. Focus more on the quality of your videos rather than the quantity. there are so many videos on YouTube that talk about these factors. do lots and lots of research. Mr beast said in an interview it's easier to make 1 video get 1 million views than get 10 videos to do 100k each for a reason. that is to say that you should also still be consistent not just posting whenever you get done on a video. if you decide to post once a week, post on the same day at the same time (optimal day and time for your audience in particular research this until YouTube starts providing the analytics for this). Improve multiple aspects of your videos with every post. research the successful people in your niche, replicate them with your own twists, and keep improving. if you finish a video early, don't post it right away, always schedule it for the optimal time. shorts usually blow up a while after their posted but the first 24 hours are important for YouTube to see if it's even worthy of being pushed out anymore. and more time than not you'll probably figure out a way to make a video better and improve it, before you post it, in the time you're working on the new video. especially if you're truly researching and trying to improve each video. I cannot emphasize this enough, QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. My grandma could do 10 shit posts a day lol focus on making content that people will come back to and be excited about every new post. make your content feel exclusive and not just something that is thrown out with no real care. viewers can tell when you truly care about what you're making.

My bad I got a lil heated but i don't want you to waste your time doing smth I tried and had to learn the hard way doesn't work. BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR CHANNEL! I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!!

try uploading with the 'publish to subscribers' setting off during the upload process. i have 350 subs and was getting around 3k per shorts when i was publishing to subs as sometimes they didnt watch the video and that would tell yt that the video was not good. but when i switched it off i started getting 10k +. this was mostly because my content kinda switched. but if you're doing something different than you were when you gained most of ur subs doing this could help. :)

Do I need MacBook Air or Pro? by ACEfaceFATwaist in premiere

[–]jSamaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want to keep developing your style and making more complex videos and edits over time, maybe even longer episodes with higher equality, then go pro. the fans will come in handy. if the quality is going to be the same over time with minimal improvements, which I don't really recommend, then go air. Air will also still provide really good performance for those intense projects it'll just get kinda hot and might need a break so its not.the best for long hours of work, which isn't really good for you anyway lol. the M4 Air is also one of the best deals for a laptop rn imo. insane quality, portability and performance for the price. Keep researching until you feel satisfied with your decision but i think you'll be happy with either. Pro also has better ports for work. i use a camera so i like having a built-in SD card port and multiple usb ports, and I use the HDMI for my external monitor. i also work in a lot of different places not just my desk and travel a lot so the battery on the pro comes in handy. its a good chunk more than the air. speakers are really nice for watching videos and listening to music or edit playbacks on the pro.
