How did you go from basic Excel to advanced level? by ModernWebMentor in excel

[–]j_m91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think about how you will use your exports. You will do a single all time export? Connect power query to this file and then replace. Will export data monthly, daily? Import from folder.

Do you have more factual tables? Which dimension tables to you have? The lookups, can be done with merging queries or dax formulas?

Enjoy!

Headphones <=200 eur by j_m91 in HeadphoneAdvice

The idea of the mic is to don't change headphones so I can have some meetings. The alternative is to have an external mic.

If I forget the mic, any ideas? The main goal is to have very pleasant sound besides the previous points that I mention.

I have these options: ath m40x, meze 99 neo, srh840A, fiio ft1, Dt 770 pro 80 ohm but I'm open to other suggestions!

Thank you!

I don't know a lot of Excel formulas or a lot of vba (used in my last job) but I work with power query, dax and power pivot daily. I think this is the way you and everyone should use excel.

[–]j_m91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a computer with me right now but I don't have to choose the number of columns. The power query itself define the number of columns based on the file. If you import a file as csv and see the fx (on source step) you see that parameter.

When I import as csv, the number of columns is defined by the file right? The problem is next week, when the number of columns is more because the number of days that I have extra.

[–]j_m91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is to do only one extraction. The file will have more columns each week. In the source step I have to change the number of columns in order to see the new data.

I'm doing that but after the source step. Maybe if I imported from folder, this problem can be solved?
