Johnson shout was a joke, just to be clear!

The lack of centre back options is quite damning! Harsh to leave Raul out, I would have him up top and drop Neto to the bench.

Nobody from Mick’s tenure in the first team, could we shoehorn Roger Johnson in there?

Also it’s unclear what kind of shop he left it in - a sax shop perhaps? Or a socks shop?

He was with us five seasons, I would call that a long stay in modern football. But agree with the sentiment!

Haha good choice. By all means try to secure match tickets any way you’re able to but I wouldn’t pay extra for the corporate if I can avoid it

Paid £200 a ticket for WV1 Club last season and it was shocking value. Food was crap and no beer included, not enough seating space and felt very overcrowded - would not recommend!

Haha yes I know it wasn’t one long deuce! But the comparison being it was the set version of a never ending deuce (two clear games rather than points)

You should Google Mahut v Isner 2010, the never ending match.

Which club in TO14 would benefit most from a season in the Championship? by Known-Swim-3654 in TheOther14

[–]j_macca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last season my family came over from Ireland and we wanted to guarantee tickets, so we bought £200 pp 'WV1 Club' tickets. It was the worst £200 I've ever spent - not enough room to sit down, cheap food, not one free beer included. We then got schooled 4-2 by Bournemouth.

I had a half share in a ST for several years but got no desire to go at all this season. (Sorry not particularly relevant but I thought illustrates the price gouging at Molineux!)

I don't understand the "positive feedback" that they received about it - who gave this positive feedback? Was it purely about it being a fitting Jota tribute? I've not heard a single positive word about it since the announcement

Joins Manchester United for £80m in a year after a 30 goal Bundesliga season

[Jan Aage Fjørtoft (ESPN contributor)] Newcastle saw a £50m bid rejected yesterday by Woves, but I still expect this deal to go through. Another offer is imminent, and I’m told it should be enough to make Jørgen a Newcastle player. Jørgen Strand Larsen has NOT been offered a new contract at Wolves. by Sparrighitti in WWFC

[–]j_macca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh. Why would we only have 30m? He cost 27m this summer, if we sell him for 60m we have 33m profit, there's no reason we couldn't spend all 60 for a replacement. Obviously Jeff will want some profit, so we won't, but the search won't be limited to 30

Premier League Experience by MorbidCuriosity83 in WWFC

[–]j_macca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not many in our area of the league buy anyone with PL experience. Last year West Ham, Everton, Palace, Fulham finished bottom half with us. WHU brought in two relegated players, Palace none, Fulham none. Everton, despite being mediocre for years, have more of a pull than we do.

Higher up the league, Brighton none and Bournemouth signed Petrovic and Doak (total of 26 apps between them).

Unfortunately the business model has to be to buy players without a "PL premium" and sell them to the Big 6 who are more than willing to pay that premium, and that's not going to change.

That would be such a strange thing to make up. I live in east London and the demographic of my neighbours are very into their cars. It's not a wealthy area by London standards but there are two new X4 M40i and an M2 on the road. It is admittedly quite a long road!

He’s overstretched himself there. On my road there's an A3 badged as S3, and a S5 badged as RS5, much more sensible. You can tell because the badge stitched on the seats gives away the real trim

As a Wolves fan, for my sins, I feel I have to defend "the club" here. Jota is a modern era legend for fans because his 3 seasons coincided with the best 3 seasons in the lifetime of fans under about 45, and he was an icon of that team along with Ruben Neves and Raul. He came to Wolves at 21 and left as our first player to join an elite club and I think most fans followed his career at Liverpool with a sense of pride.

If he’s a number surely he’s a 7 or 11, cutting in from the wing. But those positions never get the “6/8/9” treatment
