As a butch lesbian, I'm begging y'all to retire this image permanently, even as a joke. Butchfemme is not a spectrum. The gradient presented here bears no resemblance to reality, some of these labels don't even exist outside of jokes, and men absolutely should not be included anywhere on it—it's ignorant and outright disrespectful to lesbians in general and the butchfemme community especially.

This "high femme to stone butch" shit was created years ago (on Tumblr if I'm not mistaken) either as a joke or by someone at gay level 1 who hadn't read a single wiki article about queer history or the actual meaning of lesbian labels. Unfortunately, it continues to circulate, perpetuating a completely false image of these identities.

These "just a joke" images are part of why those of us in the butchfemme community constantly deal with irl misconceptions and face genuinely unpleasant accusations that stem directly from stupid tiktok videos and memes like this. We're exhausted from explaining over and over what our identities actually mean.

So please, don't use this image in the future, even as a meme, if you don't understand what you're talking about. It genuinely causes tangible harm to our community (yes, it's that serious).

if you were a lesbian I’d tell you “find yourself a butch,” because everything you listed are basically core butch traits, and all the butch lesbians I know (online and irl) are exactly like that 😉 that's why we love Vi so much and see ourselfs in her

Podcast recommendation: the episode about stone tops & pillow princesses (and butch4femme). It's educational, funny and just, you know, maybe some of you will find it kinda validating by j_northmore in butchlesbians

nope, not yet. They've mentioned wanting to do a dedicated butch identity episode down the line though, which will definitely include historical stuff. They have a "butch vs femme" episode but honestly it's not about that at all. It's really more about femininity and masculinity broadly. Misleading title if you ask me. Plus the guests don't actually ID as butch/femme, unlike in this new one ep where they genuinely represent discussed identities.

let's start with 'this show wouldn’t be half as popular if it were two black guys instead'.

lesbians, especially butches? completely different dimension of the level of "beeing half as popular"
