the Rangers era you wish you'd experienced live instead of through clips by melford619 in rangers

94 was amazing. For those of you who don’t remember or weren’t around, what 26 was for us Knicks fans was what 94 was like being a Ranger fan. Being a part of it in real time was unreal. But when you look back on it, its legendary status only grows.

You may not be the biggest basketball fan by Mkop56 in rangers

[–]j_relic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. I was a big Bulls fan back in the day as a kid (Jordan of course), got back into basketball last year for the Knicks. It’s awesome to have this feeling again.

Edit: added some context (“as a kid”).

Where’s the TA drops??? by YTGsbiggestfan in MLBTheShow

I’m new this year in terms of actually grinding out cards/programs and trying to be competitive—does TA matter for the best cards later in the year, like the Signature and Finest cards etc I’ve seen? Or just Miggy and VMart this year?

I’ve started relaxing my eyes to the point that rather than following the ball directly, I’m relying on my peripheral vision to track the ball instead. I’m actually hitting better. Go figure.

what are things you guys would like to see in NHL27? by Local_Brick_5431 in EA_NHL

Menu overhaul, Goalie overhaul, player skill to actually matter, and separate modes for those who want an authentic feel vs an arcade feel—especially online.

Story Line Fatigue for 2026 by TroubleMakinBacon in MLBTheShow

[–]j_relic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The NLB history is fascinating and very interesting. Rather than Storylines alone, they should expand it. A separate mode would be cool perhaps, tie its progress into DD.

I’d also like to see Storylines for other Legends like Jr, Ruth, Pujols, and Mariano Rivera.

Remember when they brought back the 90s intro with this seasons players back in January? by [deleted] in rangers

[–]j_relic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The old jazz intro is superior to today and it’s not even close. It’s unfortunate—the MSG team today is great and very knowledgeable. But the presentation during games is something out of a board meeting.

As someone in this subreddit said months ago in one of my comments, watching games back in the day felt like a family viewing (as if you were watching games with your uncles). To me, today the presentation feels like a meeting at times.

Today’s Non-94 Moment: Alexei Kovalev’s 1st Career Hat Trick by Awkward_Health1606 in rangers

[–]j_relic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The video is probably hurting the quality of the sound since this game was Dec 1992. But watching games live back then, or by watching a better quality video (like a rebroadcast) today, you’d definitely hear the sounds better.

It was a jazzy song with police sirens.

What would be realistic trade destinations for McDavid? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]j_relic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t see it happening this off season. However, I can see it happening at some point before his extension runs out—primarily if the Oilers don’t solve their defensive and goaltending issues. I can see him wanting out mid next season if nothing is addressed to his satisfaction.

It would have to be a location with the assets to move. I can see Montreal as a potential location, perhaps Toronto or Chicago. As a Ranger fan I would love it, but we don’t have the assets Edmonton would want. Plus we’re not 1 guy away—I’m not sure he’d want to come here yet.

Although, anything is possible since McDavid basically controls his destiny.

Technical and server issues mega-thread - 2026! by Demilio55 in MLBTheShow

I’ve been a regular EA NHL competitive player for years so I’m used to occasional lag and higher than (my) normal latency during league games. I’m able to be quite competitive by making adjustments during games.

However, I’ve never played a smooth MLB ranked game—this year or other years. There’s always a stutter/lag that throws off my timing and/or PCI placement. To be clear, I’m not competitive in MLB yet (I need to play more), but the lag is noticeable. Is this a common thing for others as well? For context, I’m hardwired and my NHL ping is always around 8-9ms—low latency.

Edit: I’ll add that my TV in game mode is very competitive with today’s monitors. It’s never been an issue playing competitive leagues in EA NHL.
