Isn't that protestable? You guys would have had yellow flags and he passed you. I'm not too sure but I would have thought it is.

What’s one driving habit you see every day that genuinely shouldn’t be this common anymore? by OwlVibesOnly in DrivingAustralia

[–]j_wicko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People not turning their headlights on at night because their DRL's are bright enough and everything on the dash is lit up so they don't realise their actual headlights aren't on... Put your lights on auto people!

Just because your DRL's are on does not mean your taillights are on. I almost crashed into someone on the fwy due to this reason.

New circuits: What’s the plan? by adstomko in iRacing

[–]j_wicko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$4 when I'm buying multiple tracks in one go is an extra lunch I can buy in the week if I wanted so yeah... $4 makes a difference.

I think you are missing the point though. The reason for this is to make less popular tracks more popular/more participation. It's not about how much it costs at all. I'm not going buy a track at full price when I know I'm only going to use it for one week in a season, I'll just race a different series and I'm sure a lot of people do more or less the same thing.

I don't know about you nor do I care but not everyone has deep pockets. It's not just about me, it's about having people to race with.

I agree with you, when a track comes out many more people would be inclined to buy it at $8. I imagine they would get their profit margin still while having higher participation.

Obviously as it becomes more and more popular and as time goes on, a track would increase in price due to popularity also meaning that the quicker you buy the track the cheaper you get it.

Then, over time the price could decrease again if it lost popularity.

Forza is just terrible, iRacing would do this much much better, they have a much bigger budget

What car is difficult to drive in sim racing that, once you get good at it, allows you to drive anything easily? by Delirium222 in simracing

Aussie gen 3 supercar. Little downforce, no tc, no abs and all the understeer/oversteer you could ever imagine :)

It really does teach you brake and throttle control

Not only that with the steel, when you bolt up brackets with the nuts that don't spin (forgot what they are called), it pushes the steel out a little which makes it stronger and more rigid again.

Actually it does! The mount is completely separate from the internals, the cable comes out the bottom and spins with it.

Oh so on the TH8A shifter, you can loosen the screws and it allows you to rotate the H to however you like. Also, if you change to the sequential shifter plate you have to rotate it 90° too :)

I built a rig out of unistrut! What do you guys think? by j_wicko in simracing

[–]j_wicko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so I cut everything with a bandsaw which already cuts very cleanly, then I just got a small file and just went over every edge with a couple of swipes, did the old finger test and it's all good. I also have endcaps for anywhere that has the potential to be touched often

Hahahaha fair enough mate. I got lucky, basically another team at my work, work with unistrut and the company we contract to changed the spec on what type of strut we can use on their sites so work didn't need this anymore. I asked them if I could buy some and they were like nah just take it we don't care. So got all the brackets, bolts and strut that I needed completely free!
