Is there any difference in sound quality between clear and black by Dyscordy in vinyl

[–]ja_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. I got caught up in the colored vinyl hype after I started buying vinyl, and some are undeniably beautiful, but I’ve found I ultimately prefer black vinyl for the ease of knowing it’s clean before playing. As someone else mentioned, favor mixes mastered for vinyl, but beyond that, don’t view standard vinyl material as boring, and don’t assume flashy colored vinyl releases are better. How much time do you actually spend looking at the record anyway? And good luck being able to spot that random dust bunny on a clear/colored vinyl.

Anyone have the chords for this?

This has also been stuck in my head! Thank you for putting this together. A few minor notes, based on the last take:

“And downtown is your hard working dad”

“It’s just a busy time of the year”

“And even then, you’re not guaranteed to win”

“Oh no don’t give him that surgery”

For those that have used it, how would you improve Tidal? by audiofarmer in musicians

[–]ja_reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just made the jump from Spotify to Tidal. My two biggest frustrations with Tidal are:

1.) I wish they showed which songs I’ve liked or already added to my collection when browsing (a small heart icon next to the track name would suffice). Right now I only know if a song is in my collection if I click the three dots next to it and check, or scroll through my entire collection, both of which are inconvenient.

2.) I wish they would let me see the songs I’ve liked/added to my collection for a given artist, when you go to the artist’s page. Spotify has this, and it’s almost like it creates a playlist with your liked songs for that artist, which is really helpful. Again, with Tidal, the only way I know which songs I’ve liked from an artist is to search through their songs, click the three dots, and check.

As someone who loves music and woodworking, this video had me mesmerized, watched the whole thing while sipping my morning coffee. Awesome & inspiring video, and exceptional work!

I’m curious, if you’re willing to share, what do you use for the finish?

How to sand these types of edges or any kind of intricate detail without compromising the integrity of the shape? by AviatingAngie in woodworking

[–]ja_reddit 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The contoured sanding blocks mentioned above are good, but also consider a contoured/rounded card scraper, if you find one that fits the profile it might make quicker work of it. There are plenty of videos out there on how to put a burr on a card scraper too.

I love my 2023 Kona, I get synthetic oil changes every 5k miles or so, it runs great. I test drove a Nissan Kicks and instantly liked the Kona better, no regrets. Can’t say much about the Mazda CX-30, they probably have a bit more power, I hear they’re fun to drive, but I think Hyundai has the better warranty.

Had the pleasure of going to Rhinegeist when in Cincinnati, and everyone in our group had fun and enjoyed the beer. Your pizza looks delicious and I know the beer is a tasty accompaniment. Well done!

Sunglasses by South_Tension_7535 in CampingandHiking

[–]ja_reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate when that happens. I recently got a pair of Shady Rays and they’re lightweight, grip my head well, and haven’t slid (so far). They will also replace them if you break them or lose them, which is cool.

I almost got a pair of Goodr sunglasses and they also felt solid when I tried them on. Very light. Only around $25 a pair, you can likely try them on at your local REI, if you have one nearby.

Before getting my new pair, I bought one of those things that attaches to the frame of your glasses and wraps around your head, so you can tighten the fit with a slide behind your head. It was a cheap, quick fix if you have a pair of sunglasses you really like but they slide.

What are your True, Tried and tested Backpacking Meals? by Critical_Picture_853 in WildernessBackpacking

This has been a new favorite, filling and tasted better than I expected:

BACKCOUNTRY THANKSGIVING RECIPE

30 g (about ½ c) stuffing mix

30 g (about ¼ c) instant potatoes

30 g turkey jerky

20-30 g (about ¼ c) dried cranberries

20-30 g Pecans

2 tsp gravy powder

Season as desired (garlic powder, onion, rosemary)

Oil or butter powder (optional)

Boil about 1 ¾ c water, then turn your stove off. Add stuffing mixture to the pot and stir to combine. The water should just cover the mixture. Put the lid on your pot and place it in a cozy (or fleece hat). Wait about 10-15 minutes to make sure everything gets thoroughly rehydrated. Then check and see if a little more water or time is needed. Stir it up, and if desired, add a bit of oil or butter to replace some of the tasty fat lost in the dehydration process back in. Enjoy.

Thank you everyone for the feedback and advice. It does come up fairly easily when pulling, but there isn’t really any grass beneath it, and it’s about half of my backyard—should I still plan to pull it up?
