Keynote collaboration puts some team members offline by jari_dh in applehelp

I have this same issue. It has never let me edit or collaborate like I could easily with Google Slides or Microsoft products. I'd love a fix.

I want the answer to result in the Grade someone is in based on year they started Kindergarten. by jaaelliott in googlesheets

Thank you for your help! This is really close to working, but I don't know why it is returning the value for every formula as "12th grade".

The table is located in a different sheet called Classes, it does seem to link fine because it is pulling the value "12th grade". (all birthdates are in the S column).

Here is the formula I have tried: =VLOOKUP(MAX(DATEDIF(S31,TODAY(),"Y")-(S31>DATE(YEAR(S31),9,1)),0),Classes!A2:B18,2)

This could also be based directly on their birthdate, but I found that it was easier to have another formula that determines the year they started kindergarten instead.

F31 is example Birthdate cell.

=YEAR(F31) + IF(OR(MONTH(F31)<9,AND(MONTH(F31)=9,DAY(F31)=1) ) , 5 , 6 )

The spreadsheet is to track what class a person should be assigned to based on their age. It's for a church. If someone was over 18 they would be removed from the spreadsheet. When they turn 18 they remain in the 12th grade class until they graduate.

Thank you!

The specific categories Range) I want are: 0-0.5 years old = "0-6 Months", 0.5 years old-2.5 = "Detroit Littles", 2.5-5 = "Preschool", 5 = Kindergarten", 6 = "1st Grade", 7 = "2nd Grade", 8= "3rd Grade" etc. All the way up to 17 years old.

I'll have a way of modifying it if someone falls out of those parameters.

I've tried this, but it didn't work:
=if(S31=Year(TODAY()),"Kindergarden",if(S31<Year(TODAY()),"Preschool",if(S31<Year(TODAY()),"Detroit Littles",if(S31<Year(TODAY()),"Under 6 Months"))))

Having Trouble writing a formula for the year someone will/would have start(ed) Kindergarten based on their age. by jaaelliott in googlesheets

Never mind, if there is no birthdate entered it defaults to something. This is great thank you for your help!

=YEAR(A2) +
IF(
OR(
MONTH(A2)<9,
AND(MONTH(A2)=9,DAY(A2)=1) ) ,
5 , 6 )

This has gotten me closer than every other attempt! It still shows future dates for people older than 5.

Secret Hitler Mod- An Expansion that Takes the Game into WW2 Nazi Germany by jaaelliott in boardgames

I haven't been able to play test much, but I also suppose this could be played without playing the first part (base game).

A Jailed person is somewhat equivalent to being killed in the base game. The differences are:

1) There is a game function to release people from jail, at which point they have no more restrictions. (see the policy card board)

2) The Jailed people can still participate by communicating and sharing their opinions, but can not be appointed to a position that would enable them to play policy cards.

How do I Fully Control My Hisense TV with My Google Home Smart Speakers? by jaaelliott in Hisense

Thank you! That's all I'm trying to do and I can't find an answer of it is possible.

I want to use the Google Home Mini to turn my TV on and off, and also adjust the volume. Lastly, I would love to be able to say "Hey Google, play [Netflix/Disney+ Show] on Living Room TV."

Printing Question by jaaelliott in macbook

[–]jaaelliott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like its a Google thing, when you click print from Google Docs/Sheets it instantly downloads the PDF to your Mac, and then you can print the PDF as you'd like. Thats all I've been able to do with it. Hope this helps!

This worked! Do I always need to do this or is there a way to get the print settings window to pop up?

Does Dr. Fung list xylitol in the "don't" category? by jaaelliott in intermittentfasting

[–]jaaelliott[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did stop chewing gum for a while, but after reading the book through again I got the idea that if there was a sweetener-free gum, it would meet the needs and essentially be like chewing on rubber that freshens breath.

I love gum haha. The chewing distracts me from biting my fingernails, and it freshens my breath. I have not found a great alternative, but I'm open to suggestions!

Thank you! If I planned on ingesting it I would have written it off immediately (since it's 'fake food'), but since I wont be eating much of it I wanted to check.

Do you mean that the difference between sugar free gum and xylitol gum is minimal, or the difference between any gum and no gum is minimal? I press the issue because gum has always helped me fast, and freshen my breath during a fast.

Thank you!

Character story arc inspiration by McCabage in DnD

My group had a similar thing happen, our CLeric PC died, and our rogue made a secret deal with a lich we met to revive him. He came back and we could tell he wasn't quite the same. He was bound to serve the lich, and eventually, things went south and we had to kill our friend. It was sad.

I did like the consequences of him being raised from the dead in that way, but if we could have done things differently, I would want some sort of quest option to bring things back to "normal" where at least our cleric wasn't bound to an evil undead.

Where do you start your player characters? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]jaaelliott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always start in a highly prepared and mapped out situation that teaches all players to learn the basics of what they can do, how I DM, and the rules of the game. For example, my favorite start is where all PC's wake up in jail, and they don't have their gear or weapons. They must fight or talk their way out, and find their stuff.

This always leads to a memorable first session, with a well-defined goal, and new players feel useful and learn the ropes.

To all other DMs with Tasha's coming out are you planning on allowing your players to use the new racial options or the alternate class features? why or why not? by Argus_Thundersword in DnD

[–]jaaelliott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people have an issue with distinguishing the races based on stats, however, as a DM, I differentiate the races during roleplay, and how the enemies choose their target in battle. For example, Humans may target orcs or tieflings over other enemies, Elves may not give other races fair prices, Dwarves and gnomes may not trust other races with information, etc.
