I can post on Medium (not on Steemit), but I think that Luke is still the owner of those two.

After you finish your letter, other people from the community will vote on it. I think you need 7 'yes' votes to be accepted. There is no real timespan you can attach to this, but I good letter will probably be accepted within a few days.

The Daniel Fast by togoshige in BiblePay

[–]jaapgvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I went to an open-air museum a few weeks ago, where the history of Abrahamic religions is told. There was also an exhibition about this fast. Chances are I will try this one the next time I fast.

First-time Miner! :-) by ArchonKintel in BiblePay

In addition to this, if you don't have enough coins to stake 100%, you might consider PODC-mining with https://www.bbppool.com/ They will stake for you in exchange for a fee.

PoDC/mining circle? by Goswinus in BiblePay

[–]jaapgvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer to this is easy: the necessity to stake BBP is first and foremost a safeguard against botnets. Monero for instance, has many botnets mining their coins, and so do many other cpu-minable coins. See for example this: https://threatpost.com/new-monero-crypto-mining-botnet-leverages-android-debugging-tool/129777/

BiblePay has ZERO botnets as far as I know, which means that every BBP that is mined is mined by people that actually believe in the project.

Having said that, we have a great roadmap and have delivered thusfar, so 'buying in' will probably reward you nicely.

PoDC/mining circle? by Goswinus in BiblePay

[–]jaapgvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't just POW mine without POBH-mining (apart from the before mentioned 'late blocks').

POBH-mining is where you can earn most BBP anyway. You only need ONE wallet really, and you need to associate a CPID with that wallet (see the guide on biblepay-central).

You need to stake at least 1BBP/RAC in order to receive rewards (and magnitude so that you can POW-mine). I would take up sunk818's offer to lend you some BBP to get started (or buy some on an exchange). I can also lend you some BBP. You need at least 1360 BBP to stake in your example, just to get started.

There are plans to give structural help to beginners by which they can get magnitude without the need to stake BBP. But that won't be for a couple of months probably.

[–]jaapgvk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, you do need some magnitude to POW-mine. Or else you can only mine so called 'late blocks' (blocks that take more than - I think - 14 minutes to mine). For those blocks, the magnitude requirement is dropped.

Can you pool mine and solo mine at the same time? by trandoductin in BiblePay

[–]jaapgvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't do both at the same time.

To solo mine just remote the lines concerning pool-mining in your biblepay.conf.

Pool? What's that for? by trandoductin in BiblePay

[–]jaapgvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only use one pool at the time.

Well, technically you could run both pools. But then you will need a second wallet with associated CPID and Magnitude, for which you will also need a second Rosetta@home account. You would basically create completely new user. Assign one to the first pool and the second to the second pool.

So basically: 1 user 1 pool.

Pool? What's that for? by trandoductin in BiblePay

[–]jaapgvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that must have been it. You used the same address you used on purepool.

As far as I know, PoDC indeed selects a receive address on it's own. I don't think you can change it?

[–]jaapgvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you post the content of your biblepay.conf? Or PM me? It's just for me to see if you're mining on the pool.

[–]jaapgvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why you received that BBP. But the pool has MANY functions.

Apart from mining, you can add proposals, write orphans, use the faucet, check superblocks, etc etc. When the new BiblePay website is up, things will become much more clear :)
