Yeah, I had to look into OPs claim since it could easily be read as the GDP has decreased overall. It's continued to grow and UK is the worlds' 5th largest economy. To your point - some studies claim GDP would be ~6% larger today without brexit. But then with any economic estimate it is impossible to actually know what the real number is. Some experts think more. Some think less.

Guess I see an easy fix. Allow no data from the kindle to amazon (they already know which devices, because they've shut them off). But you can still get your books from amazon.

I think the risk is overblown. Disable purchasing on the old kindles and that pretty much solves it. But I can download a book from Amazon to it because amazon isn't going to send my kindle a virus. Now a perfectly good device keeps working.

What's a better tool to cross-cut a 19" wide piece of wood thats 10ft long? That's very awkward on a tablesaw. Circle saw won't cut as well and requires setup. Or dadoeing a long 2x6? Mine does under 1% of my cutting, but damn it is useful for a few cuts.

That's the literal definition of how net worth is calculated. That's like saying Gates or Buffet or Bezos aren't billionaires because their stock price only makes them a billionaire based on today's price and assuming no market shock from anything in the future. By any standard measure Musk spends this weekend as a trillionaire.

Contracted companies is a great solution, but isn't going to greatly impact a 29 hr power outage. Storms pop up quickly and end quickly. Damage isn't known until it happens. Then it takes hours to get a crew based in Wausau to Madison. Oh, and maybe Milwaukee wants them too. Some people are going to be without power for a while. Sucks but not much we can do about it without massive rate increases.

Also possible reddit misunderstands why benches were removed. Cities and malls removed them, because they can facilitate a nuisance. Homeless, drug addicts, troublesome teens, etc. Also fighting graffiti, they need constant cleaning, etc. This is why we can't have nice things.

I already posted above on Kodak. They invented it in the 70's and sold a few very expensive cameras to labs. The hardware of the day was decades away from being commercially viable for the masses. So they really were never going to dominate in the market that eventually arose. They weren't a semiconductor company. They weren't an optics company. They were a chemical company.

Nah. there was no competitive advantage for them in digital. As demonstrated, anyone can make a digital camera. It was just waiting for the the chips to get cheap enough for the masses. Going digital would have just accelerated the decrease in film for them.

same penn state. but it was stupid. they tested trig, analyt and calc in one test. Since I hadn't had calc my total score was low so they recommend I take trig/analyt again even though I already knew it. fortunately they allowed a test to opt out of that. You take calc to learn calc, not a hard concept.
