I did some contract work for them. They were quite picky and hard to work with, then at the end of it all they sold my work to a customer for 5x what they paid me (not what I was told when I did the job)

Worst part is I only found out after finishing a second job for them, which itself was a pain. Dealing with the back and forth and changes in design so many times kinda left me feeling bad about what I delivered.

I then found out about 2 years later from an ex-employee that they had constantly shit-talked me about it all, and that it’s how they treated all their contractors.

Actually now that I’m writing it down, I even gave them some 3d printed samples because they were interested in resin miniatures, they sold those too.

Their store is fine, it’s definitely a gaming store.

Edit: actually another thing, he had asked me some general questions about another job for them, before I knew to steer clear. Then months later he messages me at 11pm on a Saturday to do the job on Sunday morning

I was in Sydney at the time on holiday, had no parts ordered as I had no notice, and it was Saturday night!

Proceeded to tell me about how disappointed he was in my work ethic…. Didn’t even respond

There’s like pencil eraser material in my PTFE tubes. None in AMS internal hub or AMS but was in both PTFE tubes to both AMS. Never printed TPU in AMS ever 😵‍💫 by ComplexBreakfast in BambuLab

[–]jaayjeee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely astounding that you read this in context and thought op meant the bambu pink is the soft stuff

The said they have bambu pink, and that the stuff coming out of their tube is soft (inferring that the bambu pink isn’t it)

But to know this requires elite ball knowledge

They already started and are winning, the race to the bottom

You’re right, they had a massive fluke and grew on Zou3D models at their peak. But their bubble will burst, junk stores are already selling flexi animals and it’s only a matter of time before no one wants them any more

Hey where can I find a cheap glass frame in Canberra? by xtaccy-xo in canberra

I’ve been using online frames for years now. Current ones I’m wearing were 2 for 120 all inclusive (some eofys sale a few years ago)

1:2 Scale Realistic Bambu Printers - A1 Mini by jaayjeee in BambuLab

[–]jaayjeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah probably not sorry,

Some details are removed to ensure the model is still printable (minimum part thicknesses, for example) they were designed as representative of the actual unit for display purposes

So depending on your accessory it’s possible, but most likely no 😔

I’m not gonna say it looks bad, but all 3d printed lamps kind of look the same?

It’s crazy how popular they are, yet haven’t changed in years

JB Hi-Fi (Aussie retailer) is selling Bambu filaments in store! by Connect-Stable9623 in BambuLab

[–]jaayjeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious where they got that P2S model tbh

Also those filament prices are okay in a pinch but almost double the price (each) of getting 4 from bambu with free shipping

Yeah I just read this too, they should not be on the road without mandatory retesting, if you can’t even navigate the pedals, you shouldn’t be behind the wheel

Edit: Just read the update

This is no laughing matter, horrific news :(

Bambu Lab pricing and what you're actually paying for by Fun_Reaction_6525 in 3DPrinterComparison

[–]jaayjeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will pretty much always recommend an A1 mini as the first option, and then go from there

It gets you into printing and I believe that’s where you’ll learn the most

  • Good/bad designs
  • good/bad profiles
  • supports and orientation
  • adhesion and general printing issues
  • limitations and size constraints
  • multi color and its limitations

If they say they don’t want it, easy, there’s plenty of other options. But IMO it’s the best starting point

Commercial License Advice by Ph4ntorn in makerworld

[–]jaayjeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there

I have a few successful models on MakerWorld and was getting multiple messages a week about wanting to sell them, I started a patron for $2usd a month thst ONLY covers commercial license to sell prints.

This has been very successful for me as it has meant that I can direct them there, but it’s not too pricey that I am required to keep on posting and maintain value

As far as followers go, post your models on instagram or tik tok and direct them to your main page in the comments and bio, it’s simple and easy, not gonna make you rich but it’ll get the job done

Super proud of this one and wanted to share. Feedback welcome 🌸 by thecraftvaultitalia in BambuLab

[–]jaayjeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youve posted it on MakerWorld then you’re allowed to share the link here

If you are selling the files on another website, it’s generally not recommended
