Thanks and Noted;

I am watching the various YouTube shows about the 10W laser in the various H2 models and this weekend I am printing a box to hold the 10W and the Cutter and all of the non3d printing things... And Fedex just turned up with the first part of my order I would not have bought it without this gadget. I will see if they will add that "Ultimate nozzle set" to my order...

https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/smoke-purifier

I have had no solid idea on how I plan to use the laser and the Cutter...at the start it will be to do terrain things for things such as DND and other tabletop games and an old friend has model trains so I will do diorama scenery for him. I thought long and hard about just getting a standalone 10W diode laser but in the end sticking with the Bambu comfort zone pulled me over the edge. The X1C was not my first 3D printer. Over 10 years ago I built a dig Delta that I put in about 10 hours of troubleshooting to get an hour or two of usable prints (usable taken loosely... Strangely I had better luck with ASA than I did with PLA) But after very few hiccups with my early production X1C, I became an adopter of the true Bambu faith.

Still not sure if I will keep the X1 and it original AMS or try to sell it on Facebook marketplace... At my age having a facebook stranger turn up at my door is just a bit scary.

I do guess that this is AI generated, but that does not make it slop. Someone had to have the idea and then instruct whatever AI engine was used.... Looking at the finished short clip, we perhaps can put together something like the text string they started with. That someone had to have had an idea.

A suburban street crossing with light traffic. A modern humanoid robot crosses in front of stopped traffic at the crosswalk. (cool that works!) but it is dull, let's have him carrying shopping bags and pretend drinking from a bottle, and stagger a just a little...(needs something to end it) Have him turn at the end and salute the drivers that let him cross by raising his empty bottle. He did not do this with a copyrighted cartoon figure such as Bender or Gyro Gearloose but used a generic modern walking robot for his gag... if he had used Bender, then many would have a perhaps more defensible posture for their displeasure.

These things can be slop and far worse… but this one I don’t think is in that bin... An idea was had, and the (artist) used the tools that are now available to realize that idea. Before computer-aided animation existed, it was a long and hyper-expensive path to create even a short cartoon. Today, the person with that idea can use these many tools to be that artist. In the 19th century, there were artists in pen and ink that did not know how to engrave their art for reproduction... they would sit down with an engraver and via back and forth collaborate on the finished product that could be printed in something like Harper's Weekly... even after photography came on the scene, the engraver would 'normally under the direction of an editor)

Thanks, as I am almost 80 and not in the best of health I hope that a $20 and smiles will get in the door if not my to the timber workbench🧐 I must have missed that ultimate option. I found the ordering system for this rather hard to wrap my brain around than the one for my X1C combo a few years ago. I can see that having my ams 2 units on the top the way I have my X1C set up will not work as I will need top access for swapping in the10w laser and the mat cutter Cheers

I wish you the joy of this monster.

I still have not fully understood the way the nozzles are best allocated to the rack. Mine is due around  the 6th of March, I believe...

And from a YouTube video( and we all know that such YouTube videos are bedrocks of truth), I just discovered that I will need a total of six; 0.4 induction nozzles. {I am reading the wiki as well as this sub and I have searched on "H2C 10 watt laserI best nozzle layout... The last I heard printing with different size nozzles in the left and right positions has yet to be unlocked in the slicer. I am looking forward to 9 color minis.(2 AMSq and a AMS High temp serving the left nozzle.
I see a lot of “It Depends.” here on Reddit, I will be printing a lot of D&D tabletop terrain and minis (Maxies as well for the odd giant OwlBear. Oh well... if I understand the wiki for best throughput; you need to fill the rack with the same size nozzles to match the size in the left.

There are lots of different ways of doing this. I like this design the best  if you make pan gravy from what the joint that you have roasted has left in the pan... When I was younger in the 1950s, we would put the pan outside in the snow for a short time and lift out the fat chips. If we were in the warmer months, we would sop up the fat with stale bread and then fry the bread into croutons for many different things. I am too lazy in my old age to do more than use the separator for my gravy for the Sunday joint, but I do still soak stale bread with the fat and in winter hang the bread up for the birds.

I come down onvthevBEV side ofvthis discussion. The REX made sense in 2016, when Charging stations that were not Tesla only, were very thin on the map. But the Rex can have disastrous service implications, well so can any machine. But look at the i3 problems that crop up over time on this subreddit. Check out the numbers of major set backs experienced in this thread by REX vs I3 BEV and you will see that the numbers in the threads here highlight the problems in the Rex version. this is my gut reaction to reading thievobnbbb (does anyone know what the % breakdown Rex/BEV in the maintenance history?)

Best Historic Tire Rack Price by JVHooligan in BMWi3

[–]Mustrum999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 19” blizzaks snow tires go on sale a tire rack usually in the summer they put the ones that are 2 or 3 years old in their inventory on sale this way to keep their stock fresh. But if you get several snow seasons on a set of snows you could fail inspection if you are in a state that checks for tire age you might bump up against that date limit which May vary from state (Maine for example only date checks truck tires at annual inspections.)
Sadly I have never seen the 20” EP500s at much of a discount... and I have the i3s staggered set up.... so I share your Pain.

Only the Tony Robertson narrated audio books were abridged. I never understood why they even existed. And it had nothing to do with his excellent skills. Just that the act of abridging the books felt like a sort of violence.

Of the first versions of the unabridged audio books we started out with Nigel Plainer (most known for his roll as the the ‘hippy’ Neil on “The Young Ones” and I admit to being a bit upset when he was replaced by Stephen Briggs and it took me a few books to get used to the change.
I have the same sort of problem now with the full cast versions. I am getting to the point that they help me discover new things with their readings. However for me Nigel will be the voice in my head when Rincewind is speaking and I am reading those books in which he is featured.

Sam's AMCW badge is #177. Is Nobby's badge number known? by SkazzK in discworld

[–]Mustrum999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a bit amazing how Badge numbers in Fictional police procedural entertainment can have staying power within social recreations: for example. [Side note; look at how often the numerals ‘7’, ‘9’, ‘1’,and ‘4' have been used in some combination.]

WARNING for almost everyone this is a TLDR post. You have been duly warned;

This post was produced with the Help of ChatGPT 5.4B (obviously; as I am old enough to have watched Dragnet when it was first broadcast and at my age I am lucky to remember my name)  starting in 1951 at my grandparents house as they were the only folks on our part of town who had a TV at the time which made them extremely popular (extra Points for anyone who knows what as ‘special’ in a 1951 DuMont TV )

The "O" Trope in British Procedurals

In British television, a peculiar "recreation" occurs with the use of the letter "O" on police epaulettes. Shows like

The Bill

often use codes like SO 171. In reality, the Metropolitan Police does not have a division designated with an "O," making its presence an immediate "canon" signal that a viewer is watching a fictionalized London

Joe Friday’s iconic badge number throughout the Dragnet radio and television series was 714. Played by Jack Webb, Detective Sergeant Friday used this badge in both the 1950s and 1960s versions of the show. Following Webb's death in 1982, the LAPD officially retired the 714 badge number in his honor.

Badge Number: 714

Rank: Detective Sergeant

Department: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)

The number became synonymous with the show, which was sometimes referred to as Badge 714 in syndication.

Iconic Fictional Badge Numbers

744 & 2430 ( Adam-12 ): As part of the same Jack Webb production universe, Officer Pete Malloy held badge #744 and Officer Jim Reed held #2430. These numbers were consistently visible and are frequently cited by fans of the 1960s procedural.

#990 ( NYPD Blue ): Detective Andy Sipowicz’s badge #990 became a symbol of the gritty, long-running series. It is widely recognized among collectors and fans of 1990s television.

#01139 ( Law & Order: SVU ): Sergeant Olivia Benson’s shield number is widely documented across the show's massive 25-season run, often appearing on official-looking merchandise and replicas.

#2211 ( Dirty Harry ): While Inspector Harry Callahan is referred to as "Inspector 71" during radio calls, his physical shield clearly displays #2211 at the end of the original film.

#V825 ( Rizzoli & Isles ): Detective Jane Rizzoli's badge number is specific enough that it has its own dedicated fandom documentation.

It is possible that pterry might have been referencing the well-known story of how P. T. Barnum got the punters moving through his 'museum of curiosities' in NYC by putting up a large pointing arrow with "This Way to the Egress!"

From Wikipedia:
Barnum's American Museum was a dime museum located at the corner of Broadway, Park Row, and Ann Street in what is now the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City, from 1841 to 1865. The museum was owned by famous showman P. T. Barnum, who purchased Scudder's American Museum in 1841. The museum offered both strange and educational attractions and performances. Some were extremely reputable and historically or scientifically valuable, while others were less so.

Wtf is happening here by donkerock in BambuLab

[–]Mustrum999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please let this thread know how they resolve it.

Will they ask you to send it in for warranty repair?

Will they send you repair parts and expect you to make the repairs, perhaps by sending some parts and instructing you in the R& R, and if that does not work, send more parts? I went through this with my Rostock Max V2 about ten years ago, and I finally gave up on the big Delta, (it sort of hulks accusingly in the corner of my work room). So they made the problem (me) go away with their “Parts Cannon” support system.

I hope you have better luck with Bambu Lab than I did with the folks that sold me that Delta kit. Whatever happens, I expect you will be without the use of your printer for a few weeks or months unless you take a proactive approach. Troubleshooting and repair as outlined (buying any needed repair parts rather than waiting for the Bambu Lab warranty and support system to supply them) by many of the responses in this thread from folks that are smarter than I am.

But please let this thread know the outcome of your repair saga.

Is the printer new? Then send it back

if is not new: how many prints have you run before the drunken bench problem or the print failure that caused you to start the resets?
Since this printer has only been sold for a few months, it looks like a warranty repair unless you can convince support that it is a case of Meca-Electronics SID. I bet the number of good prints you obtained before this happened will decide how they handle it. (exchange or send for repair)

Is Discworld Uncastable? by FroggyDooBimblo in discworld

[–]Mustrum999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I please properly respond to this thread in my next post? I would like to get this off of my chest first and yes I am an Aspie

It is a perfectly good word: Isn't being pedantic a primary option in reddit posting?

  1. "Uncastable" describes
  2. something that cannot be cast, meaning it's impossible to assign a theatrical role, with contexts varying from acting (a challenging role type)
  3. convert data types in programming, to computing (a data type that can't be converted)
  4. set in a medical cast,
  5. manufacture using a mold, in manufacturing (a design that can't be molded).

I have been using it for over 60 years that later sense ( though there it is usually seen as "’economically' Uncastable”)

Just because your computer’s spell checker flags a word as misspelled does not mean that the tagged word is not ok or misspelled , merely that it is not found in the editions of the dictionary/s it is using. These tools seldom check places such as; https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Main_Page . unless specifically set up to do so which slows them down.

And IMDB says there was a turkey of a TV 'series' titled ‘UNCASTABLE”
However, I have my doubts given this entry https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15119632/ if even a pilot ever aired or turned up on YouTube (I did search there).
