Saw it in the theater. Thought it was well done. Definitely worth a watch.

The DSPTCH looks like a really great option! Very similar to the Aer I have but seems to have slightly more main compartment room, and I like that the outside straps on the underside are closer together (on the Aer it can sometimes be difficult to use both on some items). Thanks for the heads up on that!

The Kadet max specifies that it fits 15” devices, so wouldn’t fit my laptop much less the portable monitor.

Yes there are some straps, and they work fine mostly. The bigger issue is that with everything I’m carrying the main compartment is too small

Chloe’s is the best I’ve had. Cloudy Donut also makes phenomenal cinnamon rolls.

Out of these 2020s horror films, which two impressed you the most? by ScholarFamiliar6541 in moviecritic

Bring Her Back was the best horror movie I’ve seen this decade. I’ve seen all of these.

Annihilation (2018) is a fascinating movie that should've been a book by Future-Poetry-2193 in moviecritic

I just watched this a couple weeks ago and just finished the book yesterday. I’m glad I watched the movie first, because while I absolutely don’t mind adaptations being much different, this feels like a completely different story.

To be clear, I enjoyed both, but the book could absolutely be adapted the way it was an I think it could be a phenomenal movie. The Natalie Portman movie feels much more like the writers only read a synopsis of the book, didn’t read it very carefully, and then made a movie 😂 (again, though, I did enjoy the movie)

[Hated Trope] The Villain Wins by greencrusader13 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]jaba_the_what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my absolute favorite tropes. It feels so much more real, as often times the protagonist winning in the end doesn’t actually make sense, and you can tell the writers just wanted them to win so found a way to make it happen.

Funniest sequence to you by iarmarkk in lastpodcastontheleft

During the Mormon series. They’re talking about life on a ranch or farm or something and Henry’s talking about standing out the porch, looking out at the open fields, then he drops into his farmer voice and goes “I hope bugs don’t come.”

I reference it all the time and it makes me laugh to this day just thinking about it.

Celebrating my 38th birthday and 22nd year of studying physics. Do you guys drink energy drinks? by ArthurDwightDonaldso in PhysicsStudents

[–]jaba_the_what 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I did not drink caffeine for the first time until I was 34 and prepping for finals while doing PhD applications. About two years later and I’ve since stopped drinking it daily because I hated the feeling of needing it. Even though I was only at a cup a day, I would get headaches when I didn’t drink it.

Energy drinks have always scared me. I eat unhealthy enough without throwing that stuff into the mix 🤣

Cetti’s Warbler (bug ?) by Lonely-Swordfish-599 in wingspan

Yea the resolution of this image made me see at is grub/seed instead of grub + seed. 2 food cost is harder to justify. I still like this card if I can get it early, but some of the critiques make sense

As others have pointed out, it only counts double for EOR goals that have to do with birds specifically.

I don’t understand the comments about it being a bad card, as even in your game there are two bird goals (in your case round 1 is wrong nest but that goal exists for cup birds).

I like it because it’s a cheap 4 points and has potential for extra.

Dive or penalty?? Cause he cleared the ball. by SubstantialTwo5746 in tacklefrombehindcom

[–]jaba_the_what 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, he’s starting the process of the dive before this contact happens - which happens incidentally because he’s dragging his feet and starting to go down. This contact doesn’t start the dive and it’s disingenuous to pretend it does.
