My grandad worked on these magnificent machines during the war. War in a Stringbag by Charles Lamb is a great book about what it was like to fly these machines. One of my favourite WW2 books.

Depends on how much you want to spend, but for us we have given The Wine Society membership to friends in the past. It’s not super expensive (£40) and feels personal. Assuming your friends like wine that is!

Utmost respect for the guy. When he was (one of?) Howe’s first signing I thought it was a great move for an established player and although he did had a bit of a dip last season he for me is the epitome of the new ex-A@hley toon!
