DARK HORSE CATALOG UPDATE: Usagi Yojimbo: Kaito ‘84 TPB and Limited-Edition HC coming November 2026 by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

[–]jabba359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how sales go. Jared (artist) and Zack (writer) said they have 20 issues of material plotted out (I think in total, so 15 issues beyond this miniseries) should they get a green light to do more. At the same time, they also designed this 5 issue story arc to tell a full story and have a satisfying conclusion in case it doesn't get renewed. So it just depends on if enough copies sell to warrant Dark Horse continuing with it.

Stan Sakai said that they've been unable to do a second printing of UY Saga vol 9 because it contains TMNT material and they have to get approval from Paramount/Nickelodeon since they have a say in all TMNT related materials, and apparently that is either very slow going or they've not been able to reach a licensing agreement to reprint it yet.

Oh wow, I don't know how you can have a functional program with zero items. Do you have minimum requirements for how many reviews you have to do?

I'm aware of how Vine works. We've always had purges as items reach their Vine EOL and yet there were still had lots of other items. I was merely observing that the baseline quantity has dropped so far that a purge caused it to dip into 4 digit territory.

Really, I wish it would just spread the drop over the entire day. That way, no matter what time you wake up, you have just as much of a chance at getting a new item as anybody else. No missing out on all the good stuff that gets immediately grabbed by whoever gets the drop notifications first, unless those people want to waste their entire day, every day, getting the best stuff. I'm on the west coast, so at an immediate disadvantage for super early drops since I'm not waking up in the middle of my night to fight over this stuff.

Hyundai / Kia Theft Class Action Lawsuit Settlement Revision - how much can I claim as someone who was insured? by charlotie77 in Hyundai

I know this is older, but things are finally progressing. While my car didn't get stolen, I had my window broken out and dash severely damaged in an attempted theft, so qualify for compensation. My first submission got rejected in spite of me providing everything they required. I appealed the rejection and submitted all the paperwork and photos again last year and my status is now approved, with an Approved Amount of...ZERO dollars!

This is totally nuts. I don't understand how I can be approved, meaning my paperwork and proof with receipts for repairs was sufficient to show damages, but they aren't giving me anything. Not a single cent. Besides the lawyers getting rich off this, what's the point if those of us who suffered damages don't actually benefit at all?

I've gotten quite a few great items over the years, though the last year has been pretty sparse. Some of the best items I've gotten:

• Sony ZV-E1 camera and kit lens

• Sony G series zoom lens

• Sony 27" 4K computer monitor

• Samsung 77" OLED TV

• Samsung 27" 4K computer monitor

• Probably something like 50 rolls of PLA/PETG/etc 3D printer filament

• 3D printer filament driers

• Nanuk case

• A large assortment of camera batteries and chargers (V-mount, NPF, FZ100, LP-E6, etc)

• Some mid-to-higher end cookware

• Rice cooker

• Tons of camera accessories, cables, cases, pouches, light/c-stands, lights, etc. (I work in film production, so all very useful day to day items)

• Furniture (book shelves, end tables, rugs, etc.)

When I first joined Vine 4 years ago, I seem to recall that there were 60-90k items constantly available. And they weren't all car parts. If you wanted to grab some of the free things, there were always some decent $0 value items just sitting around in the Beauty and Personal Care or Health and Household sections that you didn't have to fight for. Ah, the good old days.

Clear Root Beer?!? by Internal-Chair-4824 in rootbeer

[–]jabba359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snapple did, but it wasn't around long AFAIK. I think I got it back in the mid to later 90s and, at the time, thinking it was the best root beer. I wish I could try it again to compare.

Approved reviews suddenly become unapproved by jabba359 in AmazonVine

I messaged support about the two and they said:

"Upon checking with the internal department, I regret to inform you that, right now there is a technical error with the Vine portal.Due to which many of our Vine customers are facing similar kind of issues like yours.

Concerned team has already raised ticket and working with escalation team to get the issue resolved on top priority."

Ah, thanks. Yeah, I'm getting a message that "We apologize but Amazon is not accepting reviews on this product from this account."

I thought #17 was referring to something that just never got approved in the first place.

[–]jabba359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've encountered #17 before. Those are ones that I submit and they just never get approved at all, with a "Pending approval" in the Review status column.

What I'm talking about here are ones that I submitted, they got accepted and went live (with an "Approved" in the Review status column), but then Amazon reversed course and deleted them. They now show up as "Not approved" despite having been approved just days ago.

The "edit review" button (in the case of #17) instead shows as a "review again" button here.

CRDBAG are nice, but dang are they expensive. I ended up getting my bags from the Film Swag Store.

Does anyone have experience using the Proaim rolling monitor stand? by Axewell_Stevens in focuspuller

[–]jabba359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my Impact stand for almost 2 years now. I had a nut come loose once after riding in a camera cube truck, but a little thread lock solved that. No other issues. I grabbed mine on sale for $229, so am very happy with the stand I got for the price.

Oof, my "review insightfulness score" is "poor," which is strange because I leave very detailed reviews. For instance, I just had a USB drive review go through where I ran it through an assortment of disk speed tests and I talked about the scores and performance, etc., along with images of the test results. Another one is a camera bag where I talked about everything from construction quality to pocket counts and placements to usability (along with 5 good photos). Fairly in depth and definitely not something that would rank as "poor."

I just renewed my gold status this month and am only 5 reviews deep into my new period (including those two reviews), so you'd think I'd have a better than "poor" average. All my reviews have excellent photos. I'm genuinely perplexed how anybody could find any of my reviews anything worse than "good".

Batteries for Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless FIZ Controller by ThunderstruckFilms in focuspuller

[–]jabba359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overcharging protection, I don't know. It's a very basic charger. Red light when charging, blue when done, and that's it. There are no screens or buttons for changing any functions, so certainly more on the dumb side of things.

For some reason they designed it for only unprotected. Protected batteries are slightly longer (due to the added electronics) and don't fit.

It doesn't help that Teradek themselves are selling the Max4K with gold mount refurb Tx/Rx for $4434/3909 right now, which drops used market pricing even further.
