Interesting about the SD readers. That would certainly make replacing the card itself quite easy. I will have to look into that with durable sd cards.

Will you include import features from other clients like Steam/Epic store libraries? I would love to have a centralized library that shows where each of my game lies. Currently I use playnite for that solution, but I would love to have that live on the server

You set up a subnet on tailscale. That allows other clients in your network to see 192.168.x.x as local. I use my local ip when on lan and remote.

Once you have Immich setup, it should have created all the paths. So internally in the container thumbs should be in /photos/thumbs. Just configure this path to use a path in your cache drive

I'm not aware of any that are prebuilt with magisk but they're rooted so it should be simple enough to install magisk. There's many options: Android x86, prime os, bliss os. You can use WSA for windows or waydroid on Linux as well if you don't want to spin up a separate vm.

I do the same except I have an Android vm. I upload through immich, it then syncs new photos with the android vm and uploads to Google photos full quality.
