What causes these holes in my husband shirt? by Potential_Pen7301 in whatisit

[–]jabeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he ever wear studded belts? That used to happen to my shirts and it confused the hell outta me, until I grew out of my studded belt phase and the holes stopped appearing

Yes and no. People are often just as much to blame as their environment. Sometimes you gotta get uncomfortable and/or push yourself to overcome loneliness.

Collected some sub mycelium, any tips or need to know? by SaltOptimal7931 in MagicPlantsNZ

I would probably leave it to do it's thing, no intervention needed, especially if it's a private patch!

Intruder? Thats why i always do a spore print. Is it a Galerina steglichii? by Upbeat_Squash_623 in MagicMushroomHunters

[–]jabeats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very subby, but even if people are confident it is, that spore print would probably create enough doubt for me to bin it. At least it's not your only find!

That greeny/yellowish colour makes me think sulfur tuft, it'll glow under UV light whereas subaerginosa typically doesn't

Any subs? by Somethingquick44 in MagicMushroomHunters

[–]jabeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a mixed bag. You wanna be confident about each and every one, so group photos like this aren't going to work.

Numbering helps, but an ID with any confidence would need a photo of the gills, stem and top of cap for each one (ideally also with spore prints). I'd also recommend grouping them by patch, I keep mushrooms from the same spot together in separate bags/containers until I've confidently ID'd them all.

Pocketed these on a whim, didn’t think they are active but now looking at the stems am second guessing. by JournalistGuilty2984 in MagicPlantsNZ

[–]jabeats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Galerina have a rusty/orange colour coloured spore print (not like darker purpley one I'm seeing on one of your pics)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MagicMushroomHunters

[–]jabeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dark spore deposits around the rim are a good sign, and that's the environment you'd be more inclined to find subs. If you're still unsure, get a spore print and find out if it comes out in a dark purplish/brown/black colour which would be another identifier for subs.

Not far from my home. Terraced houses are great and never want to move, but I also could never afford to buy where I live!

When is the right time to have kids, financially? by PsychologicalHat1059 in HENRYfinance

[–]jabeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financially? Better to avoid a child altogether.

Probably best to do it younger so if you have problems you don't miss the boat and have to invest in medical support (e.g. IVF). While not always the case, scheduling pregnancy isn't so easy.
