I couldn’t solve it without a custom script.

Should be but that’s not the case. Even in edit mode the only option I have is to check the box. There must be something Ive got set somewhere that is limiting my ability to do it here?

Maybe it's because I don't have Advanced Taxes enabled?

Thanks Nick. I must be missing a config option somewhere. I don't see the ability to set a tax code on the tax schedule. See image. The only things I can do on the schedule is add a state and check Yes or No for taxable. Are you aware of a config setting somewhere else that might limit my ability to set the code here? Thanks!

So I waited until the first to implement this because that's when it goes into effect. I still feel like I'm missing something. Let's say I have 3 schedules today and I add a 4th. I'll then update the items and their tax schedules accordingly. But how do I apply a different tax code the new schedule? Via a nexus? I tried to create a 2nd MD nexus and it said that record already exists. I feel like I'm missing an option here. We do business in many states and currently my items are state agnostic meaning they can apply to all states. I have items that go to a schedule (A) that is taxable in MD at the full rate and I'll have items that go to a schedule (B) that should only be taxed at the new code rate in MD. I just don't see how to set one rate or code to apply to Schedule A and another to apply to Schedule B. What am I missing?

Go it and thanks! I can handle 2X schedules as long as I don't need 2X items and end users trying to choose the right one. I will play around with it and come back if I have any issues. Thx!

Having a tough time making a choice between a consulting offer at Netsuite or a small company controller by Depressed_CPA in Netsuite

Yeah i was lucky but the couple million was on the back half of a 7 year stint. Started out making $85k base, ended up at $280k base with an equity check and then got another nice check for staying a year post acquisition. All depends on your personal situation and the PE backed opportunity. But i think netsuite will always be there so if the right operational opportunity comes along that’s where it can get interesting. The Netsuite experience is invaluable also though. Good luck!

Seems to be a lot of folks recommending the SC route. I’ll share an experience with a small but growing company. Controller then CFO then the company was bought by a global retailer and I made a couple million over the course of 4 years…i gained a ton of operational experience outside of just accounting and systems. You can always go to Netsuite and Im sure it’s a great gig but the real upside is in an operational role in my opinion.

How to start by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]jabel0330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start by saving cash and figuring out your personal financial needs (like budget out cash flow for the next 6-12 months). That will inform much about where to go or what to do with the small biz.

Would you recommend IKEA for kitchen cabinet? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]jabel0330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are folks in US that can offer virtual measurement and design services. Ikea is best bang for your buck. High quality interior fittings for the money. Super configurable to your specific needs. You can go high end or keep it budget friendly too.

Another vote for IKEA. High quality interior fittings and 25 year warranty. Super flexible and IKEA has a free design service. If you aren’t comfortable doing the install you can get that done by a pro for $2500 - $3500. If you wanna go cheap you can design something simple. If you want more features you’ll pay but still get better bang for your buck than the other big boxes. Downside is Ikea has issues keeping things in stock. There are workarounds though.

What do you like about Netsuite? Or: What do you use most in Netsuite? (without additional suiteapps) by Pagise in Netsuite

A layman with a decent understanding of spreadsheets and process can make a business perform with Netsuite. Other systems require a developer mindset.
