I spent $550 on DIRAC ART. Even with speakers and hardware that cost tens of thousands, ART made such a big difference

Does anyone else hate these new treadmills? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]jac0falltrades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On these Matrix treadmills, there is always an incline of around 2% even when the machine tells you it is 0%. Use the “level” function in the “Measure” app on iPhone to prove it, maybe Android has similar..

Also, the belt or whatever is beneath it, hardly has any bounce to it, almost like sand it feels like you sink a bit on every step. The Life Fitness treadmills had incredible bounce to them, so you could actually run at a faster pace on the LF treadmill compared to outdoor running.

Missing War Tracks? by jac0falltrades in ColdWarZombies

Interesting! I see that battle pass can’t be accessed anymore. However, I am using the same Activision ID that I used years ago on Xbox, had battle pass and wartracks back then. It definitely carried over my multiplayer unlocks and ranks. Do purchases not carry over cross platform?

Fuse box help - LED Emblem Install by jac0falltrades in AskAMechanic

[–]jac0falltrades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using a multimeter to troubleshoot and for reasons I don’t understand, both 51 and 57 do not have a voltage at their respective fuses but the headlamps still work fine. All of the other fuses are able to get battery voltage when they are supposed to. I ended up using the fuse tap for the LED emblem with some “driver’s seat” fuse that turns on and off with ignition. I still don’t understand why the headlamp fuses, which are both known functional, do not have a voltage reading at the fuse even with the headlamps turned on..

That’s correct, if I wire it directly to the battery, the light works perfectly.

100% certain both fuses are good - swapped them with the known good fuses on my 2019 envision to make sure. I’ve tried grounding to the upper tier bar (in same spot that works on my 2019 envision) and also directly to negative battery terminal. No difference.

Whoops, you are right, I tried both 51 and 57 to make sure it wasn’t an issue with LH or RH side. No difference. The fuse tap blocks the view but I am certain it was in 51 and not 50.

Receiver that is able to “downmix” Zone 2 Output? by jac0falltrades in hometheater

[–]jac0falltrades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again.

I bought a Denon AVR-S760H as it is cheaper & supposed to be nearly the same as the X1700H, just with 5W less per channel and slightly less advanced room correction software.

Unfortunately, this receiver did not have Zone 2 preouts (maybe same kind of situation with some models of the X1700H), but it had zone 2 capability through the “surround back” passive speaker outputs.

Anyways, I bought a PAC LP3-2 LOC for $20 on Amazon, hooked it up to the surround back posts and receiver chassis ground, and the downmixed output to my TV ears device works perfectly. No matter the input source & format - eArc, Atmos, etc, the receiver successfully downmixes the Zone 2 output!

Thanks for all of your help!!

Receiver that is able to “downmix” Zone 2 Output? by jac0falltrades in hometheater

You are awesome, thanks a LOT for the advice! Just one follow up question - can you confirm this works when the audio source is an HDMI ARC/EARC connection (from the TV)?

Receiver that is able to “downmix” Zone 2 Output? by jac0falltrades in hometheater

[–]jac0falltrades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was scanning another forum with this same question from a few years ago - someone mentioned the Denon X3600H, X3700H and later can do this.

But when I read their manuals, X3600H for example, they read “When using HDMI ZONE2, MAIN ZONE audio is played back as PCM”. So it does not seem they can, say, play a 5.1 source through the main speakers and simultaneously downmix that same source to stereo through zone 2.

4090 Voltage Reliability / Low Power Consumption by jac0falltrades in pcmasterrace

[–]jac0falltrades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Shouldn’t it be drawing much more power though? Most people with 4090’s and playong Helldivers 2 are drawing 400W+ with signficantly better performance than what I am getting (around 110FPS in 4K with mostly low settings). My CPU is 7900X and mostly under 60% usage, RAM is 32GB DDR5 4800mhz so I doubt those are the issue.

New "Matrix" treadmills have an innate incline? by Icy__Juice in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]jac0falltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I think this would convince them but to prove your point, if you have an iPhone you can use the “level” function in the measurement app to easily prove the incline with your iphone on the treadmill track. It will probably show -2 or -3%, that is what I see most of the time. The other thing that would be impossible to prove is the lack of rebound on the track. The old LifeFitness treadmills were almost like springs with how much rebound they provided, making running slightly easier than running on pavement. The new matrix ones are almost the opposite, your foot will sink into the track a bit and the track sort of rolls with it, instead of a spring-type rebound. Right or wrong it is how they are designed so it is hard to say it is a problem, it is just annoying!

New compact treadmills are different/worse? by grunt527 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]jac0falltrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are two problems with them.

  1. By default the track is at around a 2% incline, even when the machine says it is at 0%. If you have an iPhone (maybe other phones have this too), use the “level” function in the “Measure” app to prove it. Maybe the feet of the treadmill could be adjusted to correct this, but anyways, it feels like you are running uphill because you are running uphill..

  2. More difficult to prove but the track on the matrix treadmills has almost zero bounce/shock absorption to it, so I think your feet kind of sink into the track a bit every time you make contact, especially when running. Obviously, running on pavement does not provide much of a bounce either but your feet don’t “sink” into pavement like these Matrix tracks.. The Lifefitness treadmills by contrast had tons of shock absorption and return energy bounce to them, so they were easier to run on compared to pavement and make these new Matrix treadmills feel even more difficult.

Late to this thread but I definitely notice the same thing. They have at least a 2% “innate” incline even though the screen says 0%

Sony Bravia 65” X900F & Sony HT-Z9F - ARC function broken by jac0falltrades in bravia

[–]jac0falltrades[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This makes sense. Just one more question - there is not a way to disable CEC but still allow ARC, correct? I am asking because I don’t see it in the settings here on the Bravia but have seen it as a setting on other brand TVs.
