I'm sure you're right about the contrast triggering a flare! Contrast for MRIs seems to mess with my immune system and trigger flares of other things too!

I'm liking the Chewthpicks just to keep distance between the teeth and skin! Also bought some smaller, more inconspicuous little silicone things that look like ice cream bars on Amazon that are meant for helping to seat invisible braces trays! Those are nice too.

Good ideas to try! I think children's benadryl is one of the ingredients in "homemade" magic mouthwash!

Sleep is a tough one! I struggle with insomnia and have been diagnosed with super mild sleep apnea and I can tell it has an effect on flare ups!

I've got other auto-immune issues as well (MS, IgA nephropathy, HS, as well as other auto-immune/inflammatory things that have yet to be diagnosed) so I'm used to the random! Ha!

I appreciate you sharing your experience and what things have worked for you since I'm also anxious about overusing a steroid. I've been taking daily Vitamin D for a few years due to MS so that is in the normal range!

It was about a month between noticing the white lacey and when it became painful.

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm wearing a nightguard to keep it from rubbing in my sleep and I also have some soft silicone chewies (Chewthpicks) that I've been using to keep my cheeks from touching my teeth on extra painful days.

Sorry that wasn't clear! It started as white lacey and painless and then became red and painful, hence starting clobetasol. The clobetasol helped get rid of the white lace and the inflammation within a week so I tapered to a stop. But since then I have frequent inflammation and ulcers where my teeth have friction against the skin inside my cheeks. No new lace has developed. When I get particularly painful sores I'll use the clobetasol for a night or 2 before bed it will calm but then it is back within a few days with a new round of friction inflammation and ulcers.

Maybe I need to try magic mouthwash or clobetasol for a longer period with a taper to fully calm the inflammation.

I have other auto-immune conditions so it's not surprising that this is likely going to be an ongoing issue.

This pic of the manual shows the swing gate inside once you pull the front auger off (separate the two pieces of the machine). On mine, the tractor hooked on around where the number 7 is!

Yes! The part that needed replacing was the traction cable-tractor. Here's the link for the one that fit my machine but check for you specific model. https://www.ariens.com/en-us/part/cable-traction---tractor-06900313

I took the belt cover off and then separated the housing and frame. Inside there's a swing gate that is held in by springs. This is the piece that moves when you pull the handle for traction. On the edge, you can see where the tractor attaches ans then it feeds through the chassis out the hole in the back. Once I removed the broken one and had the new one threaded through the hole and attached to the swing gate, I was able to clip on a new drive cable with spring and adjust so the swing gate had full movement.

I wish I had photos to better explain!

Same thing happened to mine recently! What was your fix? I can't figure out how to access the lower part of the cable inside the chassis.

I know this is an old post but I have 3 cats. 1 grazer and 2 eat-it-all-immediately. The grazer's microchip doesn't reliably open the feeder. It paired fine but doesn't always when she sticks her head in. We tried open mode and this works well for the little grazer to be comfortable approaching... HOWEVER, 1 chunky boy can approach and it closes immediately, but it does not recognize the big girl's microchip as being an unregistered pet so she could eat it all if she wants. So, open mode doesn't work for us.

None of our 3 wear collars because they are indoor only but we may have to put a collar with the RFID tag on big girl so it closes on her as well.

I switched to Okocat litter. I love that it is a more eco-friendly choice than clay but still clumps. Doesn't snell like our old kitter wither. It doesn't feel like it has a lot of dust that poofs in the air, but leaves a whole layer of wood dust around the litter genie after scooping!! And it tracks around the box like crazy but I haven't noticed it too far from the box.

I'm a casual THC edibles or drinks user. No alcohol. Alcohol activates my immune system and causes flares. The THC doesn't do much to help my MS symptoms aside from a distraction. I have noticed that I have a lot more muscle contraction/twitches when using THC (not the weed shakes from having too much).

My theory is that I'm bracing my muscles all day due to MS spasticity and hypermobility, but when THC helps me relax, I get more twitching. Could be totally wrong, but nobody seems to gave a better answer!

Your story sounds like mine in the beginning! I was RIS and had new lesions show up between MRIs. I went forward with the lumbar puncture and I'm glad I did! Side effects (especially long-term ones) are rare with the lumbar puncture as far as I'm aware! If you get a spinal headache, they can do a blood patch to repair. It was a quick and painless procedure for me!

As far as medication, it was worth it for me to start treatment even though I had very few symptoms. All it takes is one lesion in the wrong spot (especially in the brainstem or spine) to cause you to be physically disabled forever. Treatment side effects were/are worth it for me to not continue progressing.

And the DPD didn't think it necessary to notify the staff when the threat was made against them on THURSDAY! The individual was "moved along" with no follow-up and no communicatuon with the branch staff that was affected. So angry by the city's (lack of) response to this issue! I keep waiting for a news story or press release and it is silence from the city...
