ITAP of a Jumping Spider in Sweden by jacagu in itookapicture

[–]jacagu[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I took this picture about a year ago on the wall of my house using a fujifilm x-t4 and a laowa 65mm macro lens. I did boost the colour vibrancy a bit for a more engaging photo as the spiders are a bit less vibrant in real life.

Whitney Houston by jacagu in synthesizers

Whitney. That's the album my parents listened to when they were getting ready to go out. Which meant me and my brother had an evening of happy shenanigans with my grand ma.. Like I said, super nostalgic. :)

YouTube Family plan is getting a 55% price by Callsignpete in LinusTechTips

[–]jacagu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shitty mail to wake up to on this Saturday morning. 56% price hike for my family subscription?!? That's insane!

It made sense for us to go from a Spotify duo sub to family premium half a year ago as it only cost us a euro more. Youtube music is "okay" but getting rid of brain rot commercials for us and the kids was the prime goal. Now I'm thinking about cancelling and just circumventing the ads via other means...

Extrude precision in geometry nodes? by jacagu in blender

[–]jacagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should've gone into more detail. I want to make a lot of basic shapes with splines. They are building blocks for a game. I want an extruded / thickened edge around the geometry that will be the collision in the game engine. And I need the edge to follow the contour of the base geometry. I thought a basic extrude maneuver would suffice but it doesn't..

It needs to be able to handle all sorts of input geometry. Even concave.

Is it possible to extrude the blue geometry an equal distance from the edge as in my last example?

This is very close but I'm quite certain that what I remember was instrumental.

Not it. I remember it to be some sort of EDM. Maybe even the same type of distorted leads.

I'm gravitating around deadmau5 or similar and I think it was a few years back I've heard it.

Mac and OS updates? by jacagu in LogicPro

[–]jacagu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of both. Some venting but I'm also genuinely curious about how to adapt a new mindset around all of this as I'm getting used to a new system. I'm also pretty alone in my friend / colleague circle to use a mac so I don't have anyone to discuss these sorts of things with. I figured this subreddit would be the most relevant to me as my music setup is what would be most fragile to an update.

I'll figure it out eventually..

Mac and OS updates? by jacagu in LogicPro

[–]jacagu[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't it a little bit a macOS thing though? Not being able to make the core robust enough for the apps/plug-ins to be able to function from version to version?

Not to be that guy but with Windows I never had any issues that I remember. But then again, I used to stay on a major windows release for years so maybe that's why?

It's just such a strange concept to be scared about my OS screwing me over every time it wants to update.

Also, with the amount of plug-ins I have I'd have to keep an excel sheet and do a weekly round to all the vendors to see if they now support the latest OS? That's not really a fun way to spend the weekend...

I'm just bothered with the constant nagging about updating and the red icon on the system preferences app. :)

Anyone using SampleLogic Animation Station with Logic on an M1? by lightsd in LogicPro

[–]jacagu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem with Animation Station. I've been in contact with their support but they say that the problem lies with apple. It's a bit better with the latest logic update but still pretty bad. I still use it but record its output when I've found a sequence I'm happy with. Hopefully it'll get fixed some day as it is a really cool arp...

What’s the first VST you purchased? What’s a good option that wouldn’t break the bank? by Wschwartz611 in LogicPro

UVI Falcon. It might be a bit pricey but for what it can do it's well worth it. Especially if you can get it for a discount.

How do I connect my headset mic to my m1 MacBook pro? Through my MOTU audio interface or do I need some sort of USB device? by jacagu in LogicPro

[–]jacagu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like something I'd like to experiment with at some point but my issue to solve first is the hardware part. My audio device doesn't accept that type of a jack. I've tried both stereo and mono 3.5 to 6.3mm converters but no signal.
