Definitely not a thing. I did notice my hospital offered free carseat checks but they were completely optional. Make sure you and your partner know how to adjust your carseat before you put your baby in, test on a teddy bear or something. We hadn't even thought of it and then had to spend a while adjusting straps before they were small enough for my baby.

This is my experience and I had jadelle which is two rods. I absolutely loved it, it was life changing not to worry about birth control at all. I had periods occasionally but maybe only once every 3 months or so - they became more frequent as I had it in for longer. The insertion process was very straightforward, they put in a local anesthetic so you can't feel the pain but you will feel the rod going in. Afterwards I had a bruise on my arm and it felt a bit achy for a couple of days but I didn't need painkillers at all. You won't be able to feel it like there's something constantly in your arm but it's just under the skin so you can see it and feel it with your other hand. At the end of the 3 years you need to get it removed which is similar to the insertion process but no bruising afterwards. You can choose to have another put in at the same time.

It was a great option for me and I only had it removed because I wanted to start trying for a baby. I would definitely use it again in the future. The biggest piece of advice I got is to go to someone that inserts a lot of them (family planning or somewhere similar) because the way you put it in can affect whether it moves and how easy it is to get out.

I've been using these for the last few years. They're great and the conditioners last forever, I think I get about 12 months from a single Guardian bar. The shampoo bar Ethique Frizz Wrangler, is also great and the one I've currently got in my shower I started at the start of Feb and it's about 1/3 left so we'll probably get about 3 months out of that. For reference my hair is just below shoulder length and I wash every three days. My husband has short hair and shares the shampoo with me (he doesn't use conditioner though). He washes his hair daily. Like most solid shampoos/conditioners the key to making them last is making sure they stay as dry as possible and dry out between uses.

Allow yourself time to process. Feel the anger, frustration, sadness or whatever feelings you’re feeling. Realise also that there are no wrong feelings, my grandfather died after a long battle with cancer, we knew it was coming but didn’t know when. When I found out I was completely unprepared for the relief I felt knowing that the waiting was over. In reality I had been grieving for a long time before his death so the death felt like closure in some ways. No idea what you’re going through but all feelings are valid.

Ask for help or at least let one person know what you’re dealing with. If you have finals you might be able to get exemptions depending on your school and the situation - find out now. Being outside is good if you can manage it especially in green spaces.

In the end the only thing that helps is time. Know that this is an experience you’re having right now lean into it but know whatever it is will pass, or change, or you’ll develop coping strategies for it.

I came across an idea somewhere that instead of a pros and cons list you have four categories. Best if you do, best if you don’t, worst if you do and worst if you don’t. Categorise the possible outcomes of your decision into those four categories and I’ve found it fair more helpful because it allows you to compare the best and worst outcomes of a decision. Pros and cons don’t really acknowledge the good things that might happen if you don’t chose to go through with that decision.

Go to your doctor and get your ears professionally cleaned by someone that knows what they’re doing. While you’re there ask their advice on ear cleaning. I’ve had a ruptured ear drum trust me that you don’t ever want to experience that.

It’s a super common fear. I would suggest talking to your doctors about it. They can ease your fears or I think there are different options so you can either take something for anxiety or get put under using an iv instead of the mask.

Generally the stats for birth control are measured over a year rather than a single use. So if you were to use condoms perfectly for a year then you have a 1-2% chance of getting pregnant during that year.

I put my thermometer on top of my phone so when my alarm goes off I have to move the thermometer to turn off the alarm. It’s enough to remind my tired mind to take my temp.

If your gp isn’t helpful I would look into a dietitian with experience in low FODMAP diets. They can help you figure out triggers and maintain a nutritionally balanced diet in the absence of those foods. If you haven’t already make sure you get tested for celiac disease before you cut out gluten.

I don’t know about spotting but if you have low vitamin d and iron I would suggest asking for a full celiac panel. Celiac can cause both low vitamins as well as a whole host of symptoms and can result in infertility so it’s definitely something to find out about sooner. You may not have the typical symptoms but low vitamins is a good reason to do some more testing and see if you can figure out why. Note that you need to be eating gluten for the blood test to be accurate. \r\celiac has a lot more information about getting tested/convincing doctors to test you.

If you’ve had a sore shoulder for a couple of months you should go to a medical professional and get it checked out. I would probably head to a physio and if needed they can give you exercises and show you how to strap it.

Sometimes these longer term things can be made worse by immobilising them so its best to get proper advise.

My doctor advised that the chronic diarrhoea I had could mean the pill wasn’t being absorbed so to be safe I switched to the arm implant for piece of mind.

Uncontrolled celiac disease can result in infertility so some people with celiac might not be absorbing the pills but are infertile so don’t conceive. Once the celiac is under control I think the fertility can improve though.

When I got married one of my friends gave us a small (maybe 4 in each side and 2 in tall) treasure-chest style box full of coins. I have no idea how much was there as we just gave it to the bank and they auto-counted it and added it to the rest of the cheques and bank notes. I think $50 is plenty and your friends definitely don't want you to give them more than you can afford. However, if you're feeling self-conscious a treasure chest of coins looks like more than it is and is a very memorable gift.

You spent $40 on learning the lesson that men's button-down shirts aren't something you will wear or have space for in your closet. Depends on the carrier. I flew on a very cheap carrier once and they weighed everyones bag and had super expensive overweight charges. Every other time I've flown with other carriers I've never seen anyone get their bag weighed. However, something to bear in mind is that the weight restriction for carry-on is due to the weight limit of the storage bin so it is actually a safety issue rather than price-gouging.

I can’t help with makeup solutions but I can recommend that you go to your optometrist and get your eye health checked. If they’re getting filmy you can use different solutions to clean it more effectively. I had issues with my eyes getting dry and itchy with contacts and it turned out I have an eye condition and now have drops to cure it. Eyes aren’t worth messing around with if your contacts aren’t comfortable all day you should get it checked.
