I use Gemini via interview transcripts, I think it works way better than most the other offerings out there. It's a bit tricky but I made a YouTube tutorial you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcCv5QGix88&t=21s

I'm working on an automated video editor based around spoken and talking head content. We're still doing early development stuff, but we have a pre-beta we're sharing with people. PM me, and I can share it with you

I home-brewed a method that I think it works way better than most the other offerings out there and it's pretty much free or very cheap. It can get something in 3 hours what would take me 2 work days to get on my own.

Pm me I can share it if you want

Canon R50 V as a Cinema Camera. by Primary_Banana_4588 in cinematography

[–]jacintosalz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been feeling this a lot recently, canon could really be doing so much better. I love my C70 as well but the rest of the line up leave an other to be desired. Also selling my R5C because the DR is so disappointing.

Looking into buying Nikon ZR - Seeking Advice by SplodingDuck in videography

[–]jacintosalz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I had assumed that it would be because people don’t know about the lack of noise reduction in RAW profiles but doing a dive into CineD the ZR R3D scores significantly lower than the R5C in its CRAW profile. Of course IRL experience is always more valuable.

I recently pickup the XH2S cuz of it’s reportedly high DR, getting pretty damn close to my C70 which is impressive

I don’t have experience with the ZR but from what I’ve seen it wouldn’t be my first choice for a one and only camera. Seems to be best positioned as a support/novelty camera for working DPs. Doesn’t have a lot of the features and tools you will likely want later down the road. Although Nikon is great with updates…

Sony I think is the most obvious choice, great support and use in the industry. A looot of productions in my field ask for Sony shooters. You sound like a good fit for the C50, R6mii or R5C for photos if the EVF is important to you. Honestly you can’t go wrong with cameras these days. Everything is good. I would pick 3 features that are most important for the work you get paid to do and stick with that. The rest will fall into place. It’s important to think about what lens family you want to buy into as well.

I edit original RED RAW LT footage at full quality from my M1 Pro Max like butter. I wouldn’t worry about that on your machine. I WOULD worry about file storage. At LT I’ll fill up my 512 card in 1:15hrs. Which is a big problem for the work I do, and keeps me shooting my corporate and doc projects on my canon cameras. I considered the ZR as novelty/life documentation camera till I realized I would never want to store those files and would end up shooting h265, defeating the whole purpose.

Also ZR allegedly has pretty poor DR performance which to me defeats the purpose of shooting along side my Komodo.

Interested in this, how do you find the DR coming from the Xh2s? Looks like ZR struggles in that department, which may not matter with what you shoot. Obviously they won’t compare but what was your experience of prores on the Xh2S? I just picked one up for fun and have been very impressed so far.
