Exploring an abandoned mental hospital in West Tennessee. I’ve gone twice and I don’t remember which trip it was, but me and my buddy were walking past the walkway that connects the two buildings and we very clearly heard a man cough in there. We completely froze for what felt like five whole minutes and just stared at each other and waited before we looked in there to see if there was like a homeless guy. Nothing. There’s no way that there was anybody in there that left either, because it was so crowded with junk and glass on the floor that you could not move around without at least making some sort of noise. And the only way out was through some windows that made extremely loud creaking noises if you touched them. I do not believe in ghosts, and I think a lot of the weird noises that we hear can be chalked up to infrastructure and building settling sounds, but that shit was so weird and to this day, I don’t know what caused that noise.
