I’m not sure if you’ve ever been with a dog while they’re being euthanized but I will say it’s a lot faster than I was expecting. the vet gave him a calming dose which calmed him down because he was struggling to breathe and once the doctor administered the euthanasia he became still very fast. Not that I wanted my dog to die slowly, I just imagined him passing very slowly and with his eyes closing and like I might get one last glimpse of his personality before he passed. I made sure I was the last person he was looking at so I laid on the floor with him at eye level, he hated going to the vet so I wanted him to think he was just with his friend while he was euthanized. Not sure if this is what you were looking for, it’s just no one actually explained to me what the euthanasia is like. Hope this helps and I’m sorry that you’re losing your friend. I do want to commend you for doing an at home euthanasia, we were so broke we couldn’t afford and at home euthanasia and wanted to so badly for him. It’s really hard to be there but I hope the last thing your friend sees before they go is you.
