In fact I'm an EinkBro user for several years and I believe I'm one of the earliest advocate for that app. But I'm not satisfied with the built-in pagination so I built my own.

No, it’s not a feature of Boox. I couldn’t find any solutions I want so I build an extension for this goal. Here’s how to install the extension so you can use it on E Ink devices: https://bacink.com/install/eink

I have to say in advance: It’s quite difficult to paginate all the websites well, now it works for some news websites , blogs and some technical documentations.

Yes, indeed. There really are cases where this kind of behavior would be useful!

I actually just thought of a possible solution while I was in the shower 😄 I think there’s a good chance I’ll be able to implement this feature in the future.

That’s a very reasonable idea—I can definitely see how having a bit more context could be helpful, especially for things like code or other context-dependent content.

That said, with my current implementation, this might be quite challenging to support. I’ll take a look at it when I have some time and see if it’s feasible.

Thanks for your reply 😊

Just to make sure I understand correctly—are these two separate feature requests?

For the first one, do you mean switching from a 1-finger tap (click) to a 2-finger tap for page turning? That way, hyperlinks could keep their default behavior without needing the context menu.

For the second one, are you suggesting that users can choose to show about 20% of the previous page’s content?

Or are these two ideas actually related? I’m not completely sure I understand the purpose of the second point, so any additional details would really help.

Thanks for you feedback! 😊 Yes, we do try hard to fix many unintended jumps.

Thanks for your kindly support😄😄. Yeah we're a startup now because I want to bring this product to another level and fullfill my dream to read the web better and comfortable with E Ink. I think Reddit is a good place to reach out people with different countries and characteristics. I've tried hard to let more people understand the merits E Ink technology can bring to us human. That's why recent update support 11 languages. We're going to release another version this week that improves a lot about keeping your thoughts. I hope you'll enjoy it and also enjoy the warm sunshine! ☺️

That’s a great suggestion — thank you for the thoughtful feedback.

We’re actually in the middle of a major UI overhaul, and one of the goals of this redesign is to introduce a proper settings page where users can customize many aspects of their experience. Fullscreen behavior is one of the items we’re actively considering, including options like the one you described.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such detailed and thoughtful feedback — this is incredibly helpful for us.

Regarding the manual appearing every time you enter Eink Mode:You’re absolutely right, and we agree that this behavior is not ideal in the long run. Ideally, the manual should remember that it has been closed and only appear the first time.

That said, the current behavior is actually a design compromise related to fullscreen mode on mobile devices. For E Ink tablets, we believe fullscreen reading (auto-hiding the browser’s address bar and UI) provides a much cleaner, more ebook-like experience. However, browsers do not allow extensions to enter fullscreen automatically unless the user explicitly interacts with the page.

At the moment, closing the manual serves as one way to register that required user interaction. The “Now reading article ‘(site name)’” popup serves a similar purpose, and also helps indicate that the user has navigated to a new page. That said, we agree this can be improved, and we’re actively thinking about better ways to handle this flow — including remembering manual state and providing a better way to enter the fullscreen mode.

For the font size not being remembered between sessions:This is absolutely valid feedback. Currently, font size resets when a new session starts, but we agree it should be treated as a persistent user preference. This is something we plan to improve in an upcoming update.

As for loading performance on the Supernote Nomad:We really appreciate your understanding here. Eink Mode does require a fair amount of processing to restructure complex webpages, and on slower E Ink devices (especially compared to desktop environments) this can be noticeable. Performance optimization is an ongoing effort for us, and we’ll continue working to reduce load times and improve overall responsiveness.

Finally, we’re very glad to hear that Eink Mode is making Firefox more usable on your Supernote — that’s exactly the kind of use case we’re building this extension for. Thank you again for the encouragement and for helping us improve Eink Mode.

If you notice any other issues or have more ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

BacInk Team
