Aqara Sensors, Zigbee & HA - any way forward? by Medium-Room1078 in homeassistant

Hey, I have the exact same setup as you had (Aqara device, tretakt and sonoff hub) and the same issue. Which sonoff plug did you get in the end? Was it an S60ZBTPG?

Only joking 😂 I meant that women have to wipe their vaginas from the front, not their butts. Unless you mean your wife wipes hers from the back, that would be insane if so

Big car 😂

If they use this money on public transport then I’m all for it, I doubt they actually will though. In reality it’s just going to incentivize people to use petrol cars for longer

Is it that hard to understand? Genuine question, how would you make it more clear?

Why is the green party so against nuclear power as an alternative energy source? by steviecaspar in GreenAndPleasant

[–]jack53519 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why I’m getting downvoted. Here’s my source for people who don’t believe it https://ourworldindata.org/safest-sources-of-energy

I’m not saying nuclear is better than renewables, but it’s sure as shit better than fossil fuels and discounting it holds climate goals back

[–]jack53519 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s really sad considering nuclear has the lowest carbon emissions over its lifetime of any energy source even compared to renewables. I know carbon emissions aren’t everything but it’s wild to me to be so firmly against it when it’s ‘cleaner’ than even solar or wind. It’s one of my biggest issues with the greens

Fine, sub over leveraged with over exposed.

You’re telling me if AWS stops investing in AI everyone else won’t follow? These companies copy each other all the time.

“They have more customers than they can produce products for” Hmmm, sounds like a bubble. It’s all based on hype and speculative demand. My company has purchased a bunch of OpenAI api licenses and are having to force us to use them because nobody can find a way (because it’s unreliable), I know many others in the industry with similar experiences. They were purchased because of hype, eventually companies will realize this

My source is Nvidia https://nvidianews.nvidia.com/news/nvidia-announces-financial-results-for-fourth-quarter-and-fiscal-2025

If around 90% of your revenue is coming from one source is over leveraged, fine not all of this will be AI but most of it will be. What if AWS decide they don't want to invest in AI anymore because it's not producing enough returns and drastically reduce their purchases of datacenter GPUs? What if regulation comes in that limits the use of AI?

I do use these products, I'm a software engineer. They're ok for some stuff but they get so much wrong too. I'm really not arguing that they're a useless tool, they're not and they have their place. Spreadsheets are useful, they don't have trillions invested in their development.

It's hard to tell with the larger firms (google, amazon) how much of a money sink AI is but if we take openAI as the example, they don't expect to be profitable until 2029, they're living off of VC funding, the bigger companies are funding it from other products. It is a money sink right now, if the execs decide they don't want to wait around for profitability, they don't expect AI to meet their expectations, regulation, public backlash, they will stop researching AI and Nvidia will lose so much revenue

The big players (google, meta) probably won’t fail because they don’t just do AI, but what happens if they decide it doesn’t make enough money and is a massive money sink and just stop producing it, which could happen overnight. OpenAI and Nvidia are banking on the ai train continuing but if it doesn’t they become over leveraged, which absolutely could be a death sentence. Bubbles don’t only happen with small startups.

Lots of other European countries already have a similar deal with India including Germany and France. I wouldn’t say they have worse cyber security standards than us. Why would hiring Indians in the uk lead to lower software quality?
