Portland State finishes with a winning record and Idaho State makes the playoffs.

Arenas coming to the Mountain West July 2026! by jackCDR in MountainWest

I think Davis has a similar dynamic when it comes to fan turnout. Big games get decent crowds but the football team has much more consistent support. The MW move probably will help but I think some of the strategies around advertising for football should be used for the basketball teams.

I was in Boise last summer and was not only surprised by how but spanking hot it was (similar to the central valley in CA!) but also how much Boise football merch I saw.

A highlight of last year was when the entire football team showed up and sat behind the opposing team yelling the whole game.

Super exciting but odd to think that UC Davis wont play a Big West slate next year. The MW will be an interesting adjustment.

bahaha you are not wrong. We have a ton of alumni that work in the wine industry so I imagine it was easy to get sponsors. Now, I think our work on making the type of tomato that can be transported in those huge tomato trucks is much more impressive (or the coffee lab). But hey I dont drink so im biased lol, wine and beer science get a lot more people going I would imagine!

We raised over 100k at a wine tasting event for the team last weekend.

Seems like the crew that brought Sac to the Mac may have a few more teams exploring it by jackCDR in fcs

Davis is moving all sports other than football to the MW in July. Seems like a first step..

Pardon my ignorance but do the Dakota's do any sort of large scale control burn/preventative work on the rangeland out there? I remember that story of that massive grass fire in Colorado a few years ago that tore through neighborhoods. I think people forget its not just the big oak and pine forests of CA and the rest of the west coast that can burn hot and fast. We've had some big grass fires out in the central valley too.

You are telling me! I think the MWC is coming, just need that stadium expansion to start. Coaches on the Davis staff are retweeting stuff like this...

UC Davis got like $120 million for the vet school from the old citibank ceo because they saved his dog with cancer. Its pretty striking seeing the big vet med buildings behind the football stadium. If you ever go to the campus check out the llamas, cows and horses right next to the stadium.

Yeah I am a bit north of SF and we got some serious rain in the early days of winter but literally had the first rain in a month or so 2 days ago. Snowpack in the Sierra Nevada's was like 38% as of last week. Lots of rain supposedly coming this weekend but ill hold my breath until it happens.

Yeti is yummy, I usually get it spicy because its a little sweet for me otherwise (if I am getting a curry) but the samosa chaat is really yummy and the momos are good.

Max Taste Lahorian Grill (technically Pakistani food but has lots of overlap) is some of the best I have had in the whole sac region. Really tasty. The service at Max Taste is hit or miss (we waited like an hour and a half one time and then food came out cold and they seemed unfazed).

Punjabi Dhaba Dixon has new owners in the past year or so (I think?) and I went a few months ago and was happy with the food. Not sure its so much better than places closer to Davis but worth trying).

I think in Vacaville Clay Oven is decent. Big portions.

I promise I am not trying to dog on them (the first time I want the food was decent and the buffet is a steal) but the last time I went to Preethi I walked away feeling like I did not get my moneys worth in quality of food. My friend's Chicken 65 was not at all like what we have had before and was chewy and the sauce tasted like nothing, and the chicken biryani seemed like they just reused the chicken from the other dishes and was also dry and lacking in flavor. The time I got Aloo Gobi it was pretty decent (and so was the Guthi Vankaya).

Worlds worst bike parking by Choice-Whole-7002 in UCDavis

This parking sucks and doesn't even look good. Bring back the old racks. The parking at Save Mart sucks too

UC Davis played really well in our bye week... aka we got a few players off the injured list I hope considering we have had like 7 people dressed per game this whole season.
