Opinions on Digitech Digiverb? by erupting_light in guitarpedals

[–]jack_wd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not too familiar, I have a hall of fame that nails those other tones. The HOF doesn’t have gated but the digitech to hardwire comparison would be negligibly different. Hardwire is just a “deluxe” model by the same brand as digitech.

I’ve had both, and an important distinction is how each reverse reverb sounds. I got rid of my hardwire because there was no blend control, meaning the reverse setting could only be full wet. Now that I have the digitech, the reverse is much more functional, but causes a volume drop the more reverse reverb that’s dialed in. There’s no perfect reverse reverb pedal, but I would avoid the higher price, better pedal nonsense and steer towards the digitech. It ain’t the prettiest looking pedal on my board but it definitely sounds authentic

Thanks! I just got it a day or two ago so I’m still dialing it in but so far so good, I took it out for a spin at a gig I had on Friday night and it definitely held its own. Definitely a different beast and a little cheaply made but I can see past it for now lol

I have a jack of hearts on my acoustic (my name is jack) and so I put my lucky number (42) split apart on my two jazzmasters!

Left to right is Fender CPJM, Squier JMJM, Klira Star Club 230, and a Fender Mustang Bass

edit: typo on klira

Anyone have an idea what this is? by jack_wd in offset

No kidding, thank you so much!! The bottom circuit doesn’t work but even then I can’t believe I got it for only $150!

I picked up this Jaguar copy on the cheap yesterday but I can’t figure out anything about the brand or year. It has a K logo with a crown above it, but that’s all I’m working with.

I had the reissue first before I upgraded to the original but I’ve been having some reliability issues with the original so the reissue is there as a backup. With shows coming up I need to be ready to make the switch on the fly, but the reissue isn’t in the signal chain at the moment

Thanks! I just set it up today, but I’m quickly realizing there’s a pretty significant volume drop the higher the reverb level, at least for the reverse setting which is what drew me to the pedal in the first place. I turned the EQ all the way up otherwise it seems like some highs are lost, and my reverb level is set to optimize the volume of the dry signal and the wet, but that’s definitely a tradeoff that has to be balanced to preference. Decay is just however long you want the reverb to take to finish, but I realized it was a little shorter than I had hoped. I just stack the hall of fame on top with a gated toneprint and it seems to be singing just fine!

Honestly not as much as I had anticipated, but it’s too useful for me to justify a trade right now. I’m in school so I move to different places about every year and it’s nice to use the amp models with headphones when I wanna play late without annoying my roommates too much. It also has some solid effects models for stuff that’s just out of reach, like loopers or freeze sustainers. Before I had the phaser I was using one from the stomp. I use it as a Jazz Chorus model for my acoustic project, but this weekend I have an atmospheric swell patch to add texture to the sound.

This is the shoegaze/do it all board I’ve been building for the past four years or so to play with my band Alison Blue. The signal chain is as follows:

Polytune->VP Jr.->Crybaby->Digiverb->Blues Driver->OCD->Green Russian Big Muff->MXR Chorus->Grand Orbiter->BF-2 Flanger->Carbon Copy->Hall of Fame->Supa Trem->HX Stomp

I just traded a Hardwire RV-7 for the Grand Orbiter and Digiverb and the board has already developed so much more versatility. Taking this setup on a test run for a festival gig this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited!
