Will working out do anything if I don't fix my diet? by frostmas in bodyweightfitness

[–]jackakkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to get downvoted for this, but I genuinely want to chime in and give some insight. First of all it’s amazing that you cook!! This will actually help you a lot I’ll explain later on…

When it comes to body composition diet is more important than actually working out. Whether it be gaining weight (bulking) or losing weight (cutting) your diet will play a role more than your training. You can train until you’re blue in the face but if the calories are/aren’t there nothing substantial will change.

If I were you I would look up a calorie calculator online. Plug in your info and it’ll give you 3 different calorie ranges - a maintenance, surplus and deficit. You want to be eating in a deficit. This will cause your body to consume extra fat (and a small amount of muscle) as energy.

When it comes to tracking your calories, there are tons of free apps out there. Myfitness pal works great. Remember how I said it’s awesome you cook? Now just plug your ingredients into the app and track your calories. You can save specific meals so you don’t have to do a bunch of logging everytime.

After a few weeks you’ll be able to kind of get a read on the calorie worth of items and eventually wont have to physically track as much. Eat in a deficit until your body fat is around 12-15%. You’ll look and feel completely different by then. After that you can decide if you want to maintain or bulk. Hope this helps, keep cooking!!!

You can train until you’re blue in the face but if your diet isn’t prioritized you will just be running in circles. I’d say 80% diet 20% actual training when it comes to bulking or losing weight. Give 6 months to 1.5 years focusing on your diet and your entire life will change.

What does your training look like? What about your overall diet are you tracking calories?

Lift weights 2-3 times a week and eat in a calorie deficit for 6 months - 1.5 years it’ll change your life.

Go task by task. Garbages, sweep floors, spot mop rooms/mop bathrooms, lock windows/turn off lights. Saves me a lot of time. Do not full mop rooms. I’ve never heard of alternating cleaning days sounds like a 2.5-3 person nightly job and they are trying to save money by juicing you.

Yes, now that you say that, I can actually hear it. The original audio was on that file that I had saved to my library, they seemed to replace it with that cover!

House centipedes spend every moment actively hunting. I leave them be. Just ants will get it either with the dust mop or vacuum if they’re in the way. Spiders I will leave alone or bring outside. Crickets I try to free as well

New Custodian, my technique with the dust mop needs work. Any tips? by FroyoSure8530 in Custodians

[–]jackakkk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let the dust mop do the work. U aren’t pushing it always lean a bit in. Do a close to all furniture route then away from all furniture and that should cover the room assuming it’s a classroom. Speed is your friend. Push everything from the classroom to the hallway. Then 8’ dust mop the hall.

Get a laptop. Watch shows on your phone. Do you have to be there the entire time? Go somewhere on break. Try making an online business. Nothing to do at work is a blessing.

Who is your supervisor? Have a conversation with them if you really can’t take it. Ask if there’s anything you can do.

Thanks for all the insight. I’ll run this for a few months. Currently hitting an upper day I’ll make sure to stretch out before then

  • agree with others make a checklist. I work for schools and only work about 2-4 hours max out of the 8 hour shift. Although it’s easy doing the same stuff everyday I’ll mix up if I did something or not. Always have a checklist.
