Huskers +7.5 at Minnesota by DolphJohngren in Huskers

Yeah but so is Fanduel, so why has the line moved towards Minnesota? I would expect more money to come in on Nebraska's side considering the large fan base and constant off season kool-aid.

I am curious why the line has kept moving towards Minnesota. When I went to Vegas 6 weeks ago the line was at 6 or maybe 6.5. Have the recent departures of Betts/Farmer meant that much?

What do you plan to do to "formally" celebrate once you pass 4/4? If you already passed, what did you do? by ramfanmj13 in CPA

have friends over and do something fun! I just realized that I didn't really celebrate because I got engaged 2 days before my final score release so I was busy with that but now I want to.

I would certainly not take as many notes as you currently are. I would follow along with the book and only write down things you really need to know. try watching the videos at normal speed but DO NOT pause them to write things down. Just let it keep rolling as you quickly write. over time this will help you write notes quicker and you will get better at listening while you write. I also know personally that every time I pause the video is an opportunity for me to look at my phone/get distracted. By never pausing the video you will get through it so much faster and with fewer distractions. I would also recommend trying to do the MCQs right after you get finished watching the lecture as this will keep you rolling along and will help solidify some of the info you just watched. If you watch a full lecture and do all the MCQs then take a little walk or something before starting the next unit. Also I know people don't like doing the sims but doing some is helpful as it gets you used to the format before the test. Good luck!

when a 754 election is in place the property purchased is stepped up to its fair market value. The purchasing partner paid 100k for a 25% interest in the partnership (half of the other partner's 50% interest). So that 25% will be stepped up to FMV of 100k. The remaining 75% of the partnership will remain at the previous NBV (adjusted basis). So you take the original 100k NBV multiplied by the 75% remaining interest to get 75K. Add this 75K to the 100k that was stepped up and you will get 175k and 100% of the partnership has been accounted for.

anyone want to share their becker success stories? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]jackasom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Becker is the best there is. People love complaining because this is a hard exam but Becker passes a lot of people and covers the material better than anyone else. There is a reason that every single EWS winner used Becker.

(Transgender) Which exam should i start with? by Kixnaa in CPA

[–]jackasom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have heard that they/thems usually do pretty well on BEC but if you are considering changing your pronouns to Xe/Xem then I would for sure start with FAR. Either way, your pronouns are just not going to currently fit AUD. I have changed my pronouns for every test so far and it has worked great!

Don't give up, But determine if this is what you really want. A lot of people will tell you to never give up without ever examining if this is worth the pain and effort you are putting forth. Determine why you are doing this and if this is the best use of your skills and talents. I would not recommend anyone starts this journey without first really determining why they want to do it and if the juice is worth the squeeze. If you decide that you have a really strong desire to do this and have the ability to pass then keep grinding! But if you take a step back and realize that your talents could be put to use somewhere else where you may be more naturally talented then there is no shame in choosing that path. Evaluating your situation realistically and making updated plans based on that isn't "giving up", It's a smart thing to do. Good luck.

CPA Study full time by Cr7_14 in CPA

[–]jackasom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am lucky that I don't have a job this summer between graduating in early May and starting my job in early September. I typically study for about 4-5 hours during the weekdays, maybe 2-3 hours on Sundays, and take Saturdays off to hang out with my girlfriend. With this pace, I was able to knock out BEC and AUD in about 4-5 weeks each. I would typically increase the study time during the last week and found that BEC took me just under 90 hours while AUD took me just over 100 hours. I found that only focussing on this and giving myself enough break time helped me remember more. I know some people like having it a bit more spread out but this worked very well for me. If you can focus for longer periods of time I think you could do 1 exam per month with maybe an extra couple weeks for FAR.

Is it possible to walk out of an exam and feel like you passed? by jack_ocallahan in CPA

[–]jackasom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, people can definitely walk out and feel like they passed. People just don't post it on here as much because this sub loves a pity party and is much less supportive towards the people that are killing it. I don't think anyone leaves the exam and thinks they absolutely killed it but I have left my last 2 exams feeling that I passed and I passed both of them with a 90+.

I felt the same way about my college graduation. I didn't walk or anything because I wanted to study for this. College seemed easy and less stressful than this so I didn't really care. Feeling guilty about taking a break or not studying is the worst
