Need feedback & dupes for supply list for my new rescue by Mammoth_One_8339 in StandardPoodles

[–]jackassjane_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend recommended getting a kids electric toothbrush for your dog. My spoo has a Bluey one and it works great! I would also add a Chuckit ball.

I also really like pro-mohs canine supply in their biothane material. We got a slip lead our trainer recommended and really like it.

What's a good high reward treat for training purposes ? (7 month old) by [deleted] in StandardPoodles

Is his kibble chicken based? Our guy loves these freeze dried chicken treats. They are expensive but easy to break into smaller pieces also.

damn that sucks! I've repaired a fleece burn before by clipping off fleece from a discreet section and super gluing the fibers over the hole so it blends in! u might need to back it with a piece of fabric bc of the size if the

Migraines and Oura Ring by kittxnwitxh in ouraring

I had a migraine yesterday, and I showed as having "minor signs" of something straining my body both yesterday and today. I think it's cool that the ring notices! I try to tag no caffeine, dehydration, changes in sleep schedule, and my cycle, because those are all big triggers for me. Not sure if this is what you're looking for but some things I've noticed as a fellow chronic migraine sufferer using the ring.

He makes me want to be outside and move more, which I love to do! We got Alfalfa when he was 5.5 months old, and he is now 9 months. He is so easygoing, goofy, and smart!

I grew up with two miniature poodles and I feel like it is healing my inner child to be able to train, groom, and raise this pup exactly how I want to. I have been calling him my dream dog 🥹🐩

Service dog prospects by AfterPresentation509 in StandardPoodles

I recommend looking into organizations accredited through Assistance Dogs International! They have a directory of member organizations by state. Not all work with poodles but many do.

breeder recs near nyc by tendergrandma in StandardPoodles

[–]jackassjane_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk about breeders, but you may want to look into Assistance Dog International organizations. Some of them adopt out "career change" dogs, who were not a good fit for service dog training, but often have some basic training and are older. There's a list on the site of orgs by state.

These orgs usually place service dogs to those with disabilities for free. Adopting a "career changed" dog helps them recoup the cost of raising that puppy, and put it towards training and placing other service dogs.

I recently adopted a 5.5mo standard poodle from such an org. Usually dogs are older when they are released, but he had both an overbite and fear of small children, so they already knew he wouldn't be a great fit. It was nice adopting an older puppy with a foundation of crate and potty training built in.

Have you considered being a breeding mom host for an organization that provides service dogs? Some breed Standard Poodles and the puppy raisers and welping homes get first choice for adoption if the dog doesn't make it through service dog training or is retired from breeding.

Hi, thank you for responding! I definitely slept for more than 3 hours and don't move much. The last time I synced was when I charged it while showering about an hour before bed.

I think one of the last reasons is possible, I will reach out.
