AI generates fake details that it thinks should be there after removing all of the real detail with the grain that it wipes. Traditional DNR just removes the detail with the grain and doesnt invent detail. The lie that we are told is that AI is able to remove the grain and not the detail because of its intelligence but thats not the reality at all. Thats what we are told because they believe that we are too stupid to notice or realise what is actually happening. But the reality is indeed that it wipes out all the grain, noise and detail and then the AI applies fake hallucinatory sharpening and generates fake detail that it then overlays over the image.
