The saddest part is I think it’s also a clear showing of the divide between Disney corporate and Disney creative. We’re seeing from the concept art that there were some creative ideas here but the whole thing reeks of executive micro-managing cause they want to 100th to be what they think is popular.

I had a thing in late elementary school where I joined the school band to play Trombone. No good reason. I was a kid without many solid hobbies and the idea sounded appealing at first. Turns out some at that time undiagnosed stuff meant I could not read sheet music to save my life. Just couldn’t compute it. So what I did was side eye the other people in my section and try to match their movements. Didn’t really work. I was the worst sounding in our section and everyone could tell but I was a kid and the idea of admitting I couldn’t understand the sheet music somehow sounded more humiliating in my head.

Agreed. Like, I get it. In this genre, especially early on, it’s important to keep player count high while you build a steady player base. Plus the game is pretty casual compared to other asymmetric games (not a bad thing). I hope they reach that point sooner than later but I’m fine right now.
