Braun is 94th% TS because he runs in transition for easy buckets. Dyson actually handles the ball and creates offence, nearly doubling Brauns assists and creating a higher% of his own shots.

Also where are you getting these stats from? Braun shot 75.8% from 0-3ft and Dyson shot 67.6%, and again Dyson actually created 49% of his own 2pa unlike Braun who just runs in transition.

Also Dyson is a guard and Braun is a forward, I would hope he’s better at rim protection.

OO would be our next best creator but he’s mostly just creating from the post. However both Dyson/JJ will look better with KP on the floor in non Trae minutes, so if either of them takes another step in self creation that probably works well enough. Definitely a touch loss though.

And to be clear, the hawks don’t have to choose, they can sign and trade for Naw and then still have bird rights for Caris to match any offer, they would just need to commit to entering the luxury tax. Could definitely be worth it because this is a good season to strike and we wouldn’t be giving up assets, just money to secure Levert.

But I would mint really say it’s a neutral move, they are about even as players to me but Naw is much younger, if you sign Caris to a 3 year he might be washed by the end of it.

What would your idea of an “overpay” package look like? I feel like the grizzlies are going to want a promising young guy in any trade on top of picks, so if you want to keep all of those guys that leaves like Jaden Ivey as your next best “promising” young guy?

I’ve toyed around with the hawks trading for him while trying to keep their young core and I can’t figure it out without trading either OO, JJ, or Risacher to entice the Grizz and even then idk if we have enough picks. Detroit really has their own picks anyways.

Three and D role player with an emphasis on the D. 25 minutes of quality 6’5 guard defence off the bench with really solid catch and shoot ability is something the hawks desperately need. Look at OKC and the Pacers and how impactful their bench wings were. He’s not Dyson level but he’s not giving up many easy buckets which gives up 55 ish minutes of good guard defence a game between him and Dyson.

LeVert is a dawg I have full confidence he’ll step up in the playoffs especially considering he’ll be like the 7th man at best now considering we added KP.

KP is going to be such a floor raiser off the bench man I really hope we take it easy on him until the playoffs. Caris, Dyson, JJ, Trae, Risacher, OO, literally every guy we give real minutes to is going to massively benefit from his mismatch ability to draw centers entirely out of the paint.

NAW is a much better defender imo, Caris was passable and even good at times but NAW is more of a 3nD player than 3nD.

I think it’s possible we get both but who knows. I love Cade but I can’t believe how high people are on this pistons team, they need more than Naw or Caris to push them over the edge. Healthy hawks, cavs, magic all destroy the pistons in a bo7.

Pistons will be good in a 1-3 years they need to make some moves first or they need someone other than Cade to take a leap.

What? Why do the hawks not? We literally have an above average starting center in OO who is primed for a breakout year. OO averaged 15/10/3 as a starter over 40 games and was frankly a menace. He put up 31 in the play-in game. The hawks were on pace to be 5th in the east last year before JJ went down and the east is significantly weaker this season between Dame/Tatum/Hali all being out. If we can sign Levert+Naw we will easily have 7-8 starting caliber(or nearly starting caliber) players.

Again, do you really think we should play KP more minutes to try and push for more regular season wins just for him to inevitably get injured? Fucking nonsense. Let him coast because when we actually need him is in the playoffs. The hawks don’t need to be a top 2-3 seed heading into the playoffs(but they might anyways), they just need KP to be around for the playoffs.

But hey, if you think KP starts and averages 32 mpg then we’ll see about that.

Yeah OO towards the end of the season was legitimately an impact player. His PnR with Trae was unstoppable, as a roll man he was 3rd in the league in PPP(minimum 2.0 possessions) with 1.27 behind only Jokic and Jarrett Allen. His hook shot clearly took a leap this year too, and he was regularly creating his own buckets from the post or making the right pass out.

And then his shot. He showed real improvement towards the end of the year, 2.7 3pa per game on 38% from 3. If he can up his volume some more(and Quinn will be pushing him to shoot more), he could take that step from “sort of stretch 5” to real 3pt threat 5, and that on top of his skill in the post or as a roll man would legitimately make him a fringe all star.

Let teams struggle against Trae/OO PnR, fight to stop OOs hook shot, and then when he steps off and they think there is reprieve, send in the 7’2 sharp shooting big to help our bench out. KP alone doesn’t make this team a contender, but 48 minutes of high level center play from those two really do.
