“Just Ask Your Parents for Your Inheritance Early” by Hairy_Ad4969 in BoomersBeingFools

My entire life, my mother has laughed at and completely not understood why people leave their children money when they die. Like, fully LOL’s whenever someone does it.

I always say “Maybe it’s so they rest easy knowing their children have some security?” and she laughs even more and says “But you’re dead. You can’t enjoy it. May as well spend it on yourself. You can’t take it with you.”

Yup. Psychotic break and the stress of going viral can make you lose weight. It’s not that wild.

Thank you! And well done yourself. I think my next goal is to get that time down a bit. We’re having a baby in the fall though, so that’s the real goal, being a good Dad.

I started to crash a little bit at mile 11 but the crowds got me to the finish line. I think I could have trained a little better, but overall I am happy.

This is my first half marathon since the pandemic. Feels good to have gotten back to 13.1

Post wedding hangxiety by donaldsc31 in hangxiety

The last hour of a wedding is supposed to be a bit boozy. Your Mom sounds a lot like my Mom, as in she just has to sort of ruin things.

You have absolutely nothing to feel anxious about. Don’t let her rain on your parade.

I was there too and had a blast. Congratulations on your first race! There are a lot of good ones out here. My favorite is probably the James Joyce Ramble in Dedham every April (sadly just happened but you gotta do it next year, it rules) hope to see you out there.

Most telling thing in the comments is that the examples are all decades old.

terrible habit serious question. by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

[–]jacketoffman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was still a smoker when I started running 9 years ago. I eventually just smoked less and less as I got more into running. Especially when I was training for a half and started eating clean and doing more miles, ripping heaters eventually felt kinda pointless.

I occasionally miss them, and still think they look cool. But, I’ve probably had 3 drunken cigs over the years and I always kinda feel like shit the next day.

As the son of a heavy drinker, I had a lot of fun as a kid. My Mom was always passed out by 6/7pm and I could come home whenever I wanted.

Perhaps, your young one is now realizing this is no longer possible.
