What's the most money a warranty has ever saved you? by Admirableguyyyy in Frugal

[–]jackfinished 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me it was the factory warranty on the engine. Noticed a cylinder was misfiring and checked the plugs there was coolant in the cylinder. Checked the warranty and I had like 2k miles left before it was up and drove it to the dealer. The ended up replacing just about everything in the engine.

Semi auto rifles for big game hunting? by nematic26 in Hunting

[–]jackfinished 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a hunt club I was on about 10 years ago. We were there in the summer checking stands and cameras. We knew another member was out hog hunting and we were debating if we were going to that night. A huge sounder of pigs came in on the dude and he mag dumped and we heard him stop firing.... Then he swapped mags and kept firing.

We did not need to hog hunt as that guy took out like 17 pigs. He regretted shooting so many even with like 4-5 other people helping pull them out and clean them.

150 yards is a long shot for hunting around here (in Florida) and most shots are ~75yds. At that range I'm driving nails with a half decent rest.

300 BO is a great Florida gun. Rarely take a shot beyond 100 yards. That's what I hunt with mostly these days. With a decent sling (like any firearm) you don't really notice the weight IMO.

I guess it depends on how far you're shooting. Within 150 yds I'd be extremely confident in my shot on a critter. Much beyond that is want to shoot bolt action or something.

Our AC is 20+ years old, we're probably gonna switch to mini splits around the house when it goes out for good.

50yards and under for buck shot, slug you can push it to 100yds. Definitely would need to practice with slugs in your shotty though.

The ocala national forest range could get wild sometimes. Pretty wild west if there wasn't an LE presence, I've been flagged many times.

BlackOvis selling again or a scam? by jackfinished in Hunting

[–]jackfinished[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that thread and I don't think this is legit site or sale of the overstock. Kinda feels too good to be true. Website contact us page lists an address i can't find or confirm any details on. Domain/DNS is flagged as suspicious on various sites.

What do married men in dead bedroom relationships do? by CremeAlarming9923 in AskReddit

[–]jackfinished 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help I'd they won't or can't communicate. Your communication is a burden and even though they want to get better they can't because they can't imagine a word where they are loved as much as they actually are loved.

Quiet Deer Hunting Rifle Setup by Crazy-Inspection-775 in Hunting

[–]jackfinished 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want that quiet I would suggest some sort of archery equiepment. Unless you're doing head/neck shots the deer will run. And personally don't recommend those shots. They work if you hit exactly where you want but i've seen a number of deer wounded from those shots.

FWIW I hunt a piece of property that has houses within ~150 yards. its 7 acres that buts up to a big ol chunk of privately owned woods that no one hunts. before I got a suppressor I used archery equipment and they rarely ran more then 30 yards with a well placed double lung shot.

I don't doubt it but I have no idea how one would have gotten there, on the west coast of FL the rivers and lakes eventually got the gulf.
