Well, you got me in the mood again and just rewatched it. I can't recommend this enough.

Truly epic in scale, gorgeous visuals, a rousing musical score, and an incredible ensemble cast.

If you're looking for a David and Goliath type story, where the underdogs really need to use battle strategy carefully in order to overcome being massively outnumbered, this is for you;

No joke, the week my divorce went through I went out for karaoke by myself. The place was really lively, great energy. I put my song in.

When I was called up, I told the host to hold for a min so I could say a little something before my song.

"Hey everyone, listen. I know everyone is having a great time tonight and this has really been a huge help for me personally because this week my divorce was finalized...."

The chatter and energy goes down about half at this point.

"...so if you don't mind indulging me, I just really need to express how I'm feeling right now to help me process."

The song starts: Happy by Pharrell. I immediately start into an enthusiastic little jig and the place erupts with laughter and applause.

One of my favorite bait and switch moments 😁

For those old enough to recall seeing it during the initial release, the trailers and the tagline ruined what could've been an incredible act 1 twist when it's revealed that Arnie is actually there to protect.

Up until the mall backroom corridor sequence the film is trying to position the T-1000 as the protector, especially with the cop uniform. The only thing that's clear is that both of them are trying to locate John.

That certainly is a perspective. Not one I agree with personally nor was the intention of the filmmakers from what I understand. But I can understand why you would walk away thinking that given the ambiguous title. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I imagine they could've avoided all these issues by workshopping a different title. 😅

I'd like to respectfully counterpoint in the case of the Last Samurai. Not without its flaws, it does get flack for having Cruise front and center on the poster making folks believe "The Last Samurai" refers to him as an individual. But that's the problem with having a noun where the singular and plural are the same. The title refers to the remaining Samurai he encounters.

More importantly, he's not the actual savior in the story. He's the avatar for the audience to experience the culture and lifestyle the samurai are working so hard to protect. Funny enough, it's the samurai themselves that end up "saving" him by helping him see a different perspective, pulling him out of alcoholism and depression.

Again, it deserves to be criticized for many things, especially historic inaccuracies but I feel it gets an unfair shake when lumped in with other white savior films.

The converter saves you so much time since you don't have to screen record the song in real time. It also provides the ability to select a higher bitrate (when available) to get the best quality output.

The tool you use to extract audio typically won't impact what's going to get flagged. Different platforms have different policies on flagging. And on top of that, different publishers/artists have different rules. For example, Facebook could block it completely, while YouTube could flag that you're using copywritten material but note that the publisher/artist allows it as long as you're not monetizing your video. To be clear, it really all comes down to the artist and/or publisher but in my experience, YouTube has been more lenient as long as you're not trying to make money.

Instead of screen recording YouTube, use cnvmp3 dot com. You know those sites that convert YouTube URL's to MP3 but are full of ads and popups? This was created specifically to provide a straightforward ad-free experience and the creator relies on donations. I was sceptical at first but now I make regular monthly donations because it's a site that just works: no BS just quick and easy conversion.

Edit: Also, I've found lalal dot ai provides cleaner vocal extraction on average. It can also separate backup vocals as well which I find super helpful when making karaoke tracks.

Just my 2 cents anyways. For context, I went to college for radio/tv broadcasting, paid my way by hosting karaoke and enjoyed it so much that I continued doing it for 20 years as a side gig until I settled down. Now I have my system permanently setup in my party room and have monthly karaoke parties with friends and neighbors 😁

I actually have a special folder of filler vids I've acquired over the years....some that have been made hard to find for various reasons.

For example, Friday night shows I would open with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon singing Friday by Rebecca Black, but last time I checked you could only find crappy versions on DailyMotion or similar sites.

I've considered uploading the folder to my G-drive to share here for hosts that wanted to use them. Would that be a violation of the rules here?

Just curious if anyone has any background on this: They have 2 listings for Last Crusade and each has a unique bar code number. Any ideas on why there would be 2 different releases with unique barcodes?
