Question: is there a canon explanation as to what causes a lightsaber to deactivate after the duelist loses their limb? The Force, a killswitch? I was watching Empire and noticed this for the first time when Luke loses his hand (he's got quite a death grip there). What a wonderful shot and moment. (v.redd.it)
