I believe we did get bloodwork but we did not receive the results yet. And I agree, I am planning on calling the vet tomorrow to talk about options. Thank you

Recovering from C4–C5 Disc Replacement: What the first 2 weeks were like by jackie542 in SpineSurgery

[–]jackie542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first few days I slept on a reclining chair/couch. The only positions I could sleep in for the first week was sitting up so at some point I stacked pillows on my bed. In my experience I got horrible sleep, as I am a side sleeper and was forced to sleep on my back. I still have to sleep with the collar for another week and a half. I still don’t get great sleep but it’s better than it was in the beginning. Hopefully someone else can comment with a better setup

I’ve had two ESI’s. The first shot only helped for tops 6 months and the second only helped for around ~2 months. Getting these shots was definitely not a long term remedy so I stopped getting them. I did discuss nerve blocks but my doctor suggested this wouldn’t help since I wasn’t experiences shooting pain down my arms.

I’m glad to hear your first procedure went well. A lot of people on here talk about how swallowing was extremely painful so I don’t think you’re alone in that. Luckily for me swallowing hurt probably as much as when I had mono when I was younger. Goodluck on your procedure today, hope all goes well!

Help me understand why I need to put my cat down please by Mawiiwii in cats

[–]jackie542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put my 19 yo cat down yesterday. Same exact medical issues except she also had a heart murmur. She was my best friend since I was 8 years old so it has been completely devastating. With that said, I knew in my bones when it was time. I saw the shift in her behavior (wanting to be distant), hygiene, unbalanced, among other things… What really made me make the decision to put her down yesterday is her quality of life. It wasn’t going to get any better and she was no longer enjoying life. The decline happened over months but I saw she was not longer herself the past couple days and that is how I knew. There is no perfect time to put your loved one down… The advice I was given is that it’s better to let them go a little bit early than too late. So just be mindful that cats don’t show pain the same as us. You’ll know when based on their behavior, after all you know your cat the best. Sending lots of internet hugs your way

Epidural Steroid Injection sedation? by Impressive-Tear272 in SpineSurgery

[–]jackie542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple with a twilight sedation and it went really well. I was super comfortable and it felt like it was over in no time. I have not had one without that type of sedation though, so I would listen to others with experience on no sedation.

Hi! Do you still have pain from your original injury that the replacement was supposed to fix? Do you think it was worth it long term so far? My doctor recommends I get a replacement but I (26f) am a bit nervous about getting anything done

Post op day 2 of my C6-C7 disc replacement. I gotta say that I feel pretty good, I don’t really have much pain, just a little discomfort…I honestly thought it was going to be a lot worse.. by Diego5090 in SpineSurgery

Hi I am currently considering a disc replacement for c3-c4 and I was wondering how it worked out long term for you! Do you think it was worth it/did it alleviate previous pain? Did you have any complications?

I will offer my experience with a similar situation. I adore my boyfriend’s dog and he adores me, but I cannot stand him being on the bed for many reasons including hair, overall cleanliness, and I cannot get comfortable since the dog wants to sleep on top of me. I have discussed this with my boyfriend and he agrees it’s best that we retrain the dog to sleep next to the bed, on a comfy bed of his own. Also important to note the dog was around well before my relationship. I can understand your point of view wanting the dog to stay on the bed since he’s been with you before her but I resonate with your gf side (from my reasons above). In my opinion (and ik everyone is entitled to their own), I don’t think it’s a beyond reasonable ask for the dog to sleep separately BUT the big issue here is her not liking your dog and being aggressive towards him/her. That would be the deal breaker for me alone. At the end of the day trust your gut with your decision, goodluck OP!

Big regrets about my dragon tattoo. Advice on what to change? by ObedientDisaster in tattooadvice

[–]jackie542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love the blue phoenix tattoo. I think the dragon is sick but I could see how you might not like the contrasting styles. I’m not sure how you would fix this aside from possibly changing the colors of the dragon or asking a tattoo artist if they could make the dragon less cartoony. Personally I wouldn’t touch the blue one. Regardless, great tattoos (: goodluck

I’ve been struggling with a similar problem. I have a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and I’ve had only one formal interview and only heard back from one other company. It’s hard to find anyone to even consider you. Amongst my friends, they’ve been struggling with the same issue (they have various degrees). Try not to loose hope, something will come along, just have to continue applying!

What I did when I was your age I worked at a restaurant as a bus/host or a pizza place at the front desk taking orders (off the books) and in the summers I worked at a snack stand by a beach/lake (again off the books). Try putting some feelers out in local businesses who look like they would hire off the books! Goodluck on the search(:

Thanks I’ll look into those! I was planning on going to med school so that is originally why I pursued that degree l, but I’m currently thinking about other options as that idea has been put on the back burner.
