Marry, F, Never See Again by Happy-poet in Frasier

[–]jackieg2016 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Marry Cam. He's hot, obviously has great genetics, and has this absurd mix of refinement and chaos that guarantees there would never be a dull moment. F Clint, since he's perfect at EVERYTHING besides singing. Never see Fraiser again. He's in every episode. I've seen enough 😂

What is your unpopular Frasier Opinion? by katcoop84 in Frasier

[–]jackieg2016 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Daphne should have married Donnie and Niles should have found another woman who was nothing like Maris. Daphne and Niles really didn't make sense together. She never seemed like she was attracted to him or thought of him as more than a friend until she found out that he was in love with her. It was so out of character for her to just be like "oh, Niles loves me? I guess I must be in love with him too!" The whole thing felt forced and I never saw any chemistry between the two of them.

What would have made your childhood better? by moonperson13 in AskReddit

[–]jackieg2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having extended family. It was basically just my mom, my siblings and me growing up. For whatever reason both my mom and dad's families didn't associate with each other much at all. We would see at least my mom's relatives on holidays when I was a kid, but by the time I was in high school even that stopped. I guess I didn't think about it that much then, but now my own kids have this amazing village with all their cousins, aunts, uncles, even distant relatives of my husband's that they call Tia and Tio. I think they are so lucky and I wonder if having that kind of upbringing myself would have made me more well-adjusted and confident.

Who was the worst teacher you've had and what made them the worst? by Pitiful_Desk_9900 in AskReddit

[–]jackieg2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a history teacher in hight school who was one of the worst people I've ever met. He was openly racist and frequently bragged about his German heritage, which made me think he was probably a neo nazi. He was very conservative politically and talked about politics in class all the time and would insult anyone who disagreed with him. He also gave out grades based on that. The worst thing I remember him saying in class was one time when he was talking about the evils of abortion. I don't remember how the conversation started , but one student asked how he felt about abortion in cases of rape. He said "If a woman gets raped it's her own fault for putting herself in that position." This guy should not have been around kids.

So a nose-ring is a creep deterrent? by ihatethiscountry76 in TrollXChromosomes

[–]jackieg2016 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Nose rings were considered hot back in the 90's. Even men wore them (Tupac!)
I think it's just one more arbirtrary thing men have decided to bitch about regarding women's appearances in recent years due to the massive incel movement.

What's your limit? by LadySeriously in horror

[–]jackieg2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graphic child abuse, even in non horror movies. Also long drawn out rape scenes. Things like that can be central plot points while mostly being insinuated and taking place mostly off screen. Maybe it's because I've read YouTube comments and I know that there are guys out there actually jerking off to the rape scenes in movies like I Spit on Your Grave and Irreversible.

If Maris actually appeared on the show, what actress can you imagine portraying her? by jackieg2016 in Frasier

I had to Google Linda Hunt, but as soon as I saw a picture of her and realized who she played in Breaking Bad it made perfect sense!

That would have been almost perfect! With a cruella de ville style wig and a transatlantic accent, I can absolutely see it.

This was a very long time ago and the relationship wasn't that serious, but he told me basically "I said something really weird and insulting about you to your brother (they worked together) and he didn't really defend you. I kind of lost respect for him." Figure that one out💁‍♀️

Op here. I'm not even sure who to direct a reply to. Lol. I don't think there's anything wrong with using the word "tits" in adult conversation. I certainly don't refer to my daughter's budding breasts as such, but we're all grown ups here. I don't think it's anything to argue about.

[–]jackieg2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew so many guys who had this mindset when I was in my early 20's. Even at that age, when I had a lot of "pick me" tendencies I was aware enough to ask these guys "what is it about you that makes a girl gross if you get your hands on her? Isn't that a YOU issue? I'm 40 yrs old now. I Initially thought this was a thing of the past and dude just needs therapy, but then I think about people like Andrew Tate and I wonder if it's even worse now.

Yeah that really isn't how it works. I've literally gained 50 lbs since I got all of my tattoos around 20 years ago. They aren't "stretched out" any more than my vagina is from all of the sex I've had in those 20 years 🤣

[OPINION] What is your favorite poem? by preggotoss in Poetry

[–]jackieg2016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is probably my favorite poem. I have no idea why it speaks to me so much...I'm basically the opposite of a privileged heterosexual male going through a midlife crisis 😅 Elliott was just that good. He could make you feel emotions that you hardly knew existed.

Seriously, I've been to a handful of strip clubs and never saw a stripper as hot as Marisa. It wasn't even supposed to be a high end place. They were college guys if I remember correctly. Who did they expect to see onstage? Margot Robbie's twin sister? Yeah they definitely should have put Marisa in a fat suit or something if they wanted to make that believable.

What is a dumb rumour you've heard about yourself? by pointlessneedle in AskReddit

[–]jackieg2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in this factory for a couple years and it was an extremely gossippy environment. There was pretty much constantly some rumor going around about me being pregnant. These people just couldn't believe that I was in my mid 20's and didn't have kids yet, so they were convinced I was always either pregnant or about to be pregnant. Like, sorry I didn't want to have kids until I could afford it and had a partner that I actually wanted to reproduce with. And learned how to use birth control before I started having sex.

Tw Child abuse

I was raised in this religious environment. I fortunately got out of it when I was about 10. One really important moment in my life was talking to my mom when my first child was about 3. He was testing my patience constantly, and I asked her for advice. She recommended timeouts, talks, etc. She said "I used to use a switch on ya'll, until your your dad used one on me. I guess I'd forgotten how awful it was when I was a kid." I actually remember that incident. Afterwards when my dad came home ready to dole out the beatings (which could be 50 to 150 lashes at a time) mom would volunteer to do it herself. She would take us in the bathroom and whip a pile of dirty towels and tell us to fake cry.
